My friend and I stopped here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon after reading about it online. The place was empty which made it fun to look around. We sat in the bar area and had crab soup and wine. The service was ok and the soup was good. All in all it was a fun place to... More

My wife & I were visiting the Chrysler Museum and were looking for a place to eat lunch after the museum. It had been a few years since we had eaten at Freemason Abby. In reviewing Trip Advisor Norfolk restaurant reviews, we read a very nice lunch review for Freemason Abby and decided to go there. My wife had a... More

The freemason Abbey is when I take guest/s for fine dining. It's elegant setting and the quality of the food is conducive for business and a friendly lunch or dinner.

I've eaten here several times and have yet to be disappointed. Good atmosphere, good wine prices what more can I say.

We drove by Freemason Abbey last month and quickly realized that the first time we ate there was right after proposing to my wife in Dec 2000. We had lunch then with family and friends and this time we thought it would be great to rekindle the moment. Our experience was just as pleasant.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes unique dining experiences. The place is actually an old church and has lots of history and some areas are from the original church. I thought the food was just okay I expected it to be a little better but I did dine during a busy time so maybe the rush affected... More

We went on a Thursday night & the place was packed. We had reservations and still had to wait 15 minutes before being seated. Beautiful relaxing atmosphere, that was once a church. Excellent service and the food was absolutely delicious!

The Freemason Abbey is an amazing place to check out when visiting Norfolk! The architecture and style in this Restaurant (which is an old church) is amazing. They had amazing food (highly recommend the Fried Green Tomato appetizer) and a great selection of wine. The service was excellent! Perfect for a romantic night out!

Normally this place is awesome. Tonight's meal was easily one of the worst meals I have had recently. I am not sure if this place has gone downhill or we picked a bad night. Maybe my expectations for the place were too high based on previous meals here. We both had prime rib (queen $22 and king $27 cuts) and... More

We visited for a large family meal following a high school graduation. The place was packed on a Thursday evening with others celebrating, too. First, let me say that the service was just amazing. We had a party of nine and it seemed like out waitress was only serving us. She was lightning quick, ready with everything when we needed... More
