On Granby Street lies a little place called Charlie'c Cafe. We had breakfast there and it was delicious. It is small, maybe 10 tables, but the menu is great, service is good and the food is delicious. Their breakfast menu has so many omelets that it is difficult to decide which one you want. I would love to get back... More

Arguably one of the best breakfasts in the country. My first encounter was back in 03 after moving to the Ghent District of Norfolk down on the corner of Princess Anne and Granby. During a recent trip back to Norfolk, I decided to break from my usual Mom's Omelet -- which I've long called among the best omelets ever, anywhere... More

Great little place for breakfast. This is not a gourmet restaurant, so breakfasts are the thing. Outside of breakfast, who knows what you might find? Eggs are delish, not greasy. Hash browns are also not too greasy. Pancakes and waffles are tops. Jason, the waiter, is top drawer, and the waitresses are mostly very nice. Go for it! I go... More

Best omelet I have ever had, great chunky salsa on top. The homefries were creamy and the biscuits were good. My friend had a burger and coleslaw, and the coleslaw was purple colored which was weird but she said it tasted good. The waitress kind of sucked, inattentive and didn't tell us about any specials or offer donuts. The food... More

Looked forward to having breakfast outside, and having a cocktail with it, but the server that was supposed to set up the tables was late, and the staff said we Had to eat inside, and that their liquor license wouldn't let them serve booze before noon (not their fault, that's fine...) but we sat at the counter, and even though... Charlie's has a wonderful selection of 3-egg Omelets to choose from that are so light & fluffy! Their menu is filled with great choices for breakfast and lunch. Their service is friendly and fast, although the cafe can be very busy such as on Saturday mornings. The owner, Ted told us that on Oct. 1st, he plans to open Charlie's... More

We were looking for a place to catch a late breakfast around 11am on the way to the Virginia Zoo - we found it at Charlie's and we were NOT disappointed! I had called ahead to make sure of their breakfast hours -- they serve it all day!!! My boyfriend and I both got omelets and hashbrowns (yummy!). The portions... More

My husband and I dropped off our sons in Norfolk to attend ODU's Graduate School and ATI Welding School. We weren't really familiar with the Norfolk area. While letting the boys sleep in at their house, we thought we would venture around to find a place to have breakfast. We like to try local restaurants while traveling. We were about... More
