Great price makes up (mostly) for less than good service.

Went here this morning because it is a Triple D joint; ) I ordered the BBQ sandwich with slaw with fries and my hubby ordered two burgers with fries. We also each ordered a soft drink...I also ordered a coffee and a strawberry willy. The strawberry willy is vanilla ice cream with strawberries... read more

This could be Arnold's off the set of Happy Days!! Great ice cream in homemade comes that you can buy separately to go and use at home if you like. Doumar's has drive-in window service as well as sit-down booths and counter service inside. Closed on Sundays so be aware of that. Pork BBQ sandwich and burgers are good with... More

Doumars is a local landmark rich in local history dating back to 1934. The place can get very busy on weekends and in the summer so finding a seat inside can prove difficult. Many seniors will come here to eat and show off their retro classic cars in the parking lot. The resturant was founded by the same man credited... More

We loved the ice cream and the atmosphere at this old fashioned diner. It's legitimate though - not a diner made to look like it's from the 50's...it literally hasn't been changed since the 50's. Food was okay...I wouldn't go just for the burgers. The shakes and ice cream were amazing. Get an ice cream cone - apparently they were... More

one of the finest milkshakes that I'm aware of today....variety of great flavors and you will not be disappointed that you stopped for a milkshake as it will take you back to a great time ...

There is no Doubt this place is a Nostalgic Eatery, they Invented the first waffle cone Iron and it is even at the Smithsonian museum, the lot is nice old skool park and order type, the BBQ is border line great but not enough for the price, if they were to give you more meat for what they charge this... We have been to Doumars many times over the years. If you love well worn diners- this will be meat and drink to you. We are big fans of their classic BBQ sandwiches and lime-aid. This is not a place for the fine dining set or those who really don't like the 50s style of drive in. Kids very welcome.

This is a car hop style restaurant. Waffle cone introduced at St. Louis World's Fair, great ice cream.

For all the hype, I was a bit underwhelmed. Ice-cream is not that great and neither are shakes. Prices are relatively low and car-hop service is cool.
