We liked this place. The staff were very friendly and the food good and reasonably priced. It was as another (less favourable) reviewer noted a bit chilly in the evening, but it was February when we went so really no complaints. We visited twice, sitting outside for lunch and inside in the evening.

I reviewed this restaurant positively 2 years ago because of its superb steak flambe. We went back on a recent visit to Madeira to taste the flambe again. Unfortunately it had changed hands and they don't do the steak flambe anymore. The place was cold and pretty empty. We had reasonable tomato soup - a bit greasy. I had the... More

Extremely bad service, very long waiting time, rude staff... And a waiter asked me: "what do you expect for such a small price?" There are much better restaurants on Madeira.

I like the position of this restaurant! Is in Canico Center , opossite the Church and the cemetery, and if you stay on the terrace you get all the local athmosphere! I like the bread-bolo do caco, the Poncha, the local bread soup with an eg, the people!

Luckily, thanks to the extensive menu, there's still plenty of new dishes to try next time.I also had the the most amazing vinho verde there.I'm very much... More

lovely food at reasonable prices- The starters are huge. Mushrooms with large prawns were yummy! Also the soups were very tasty. Mains were good- too full for desert! Wines very reasoable too.

Nice choice of local dishes and pastas. Price really good and wine also very reasonably priced. Friendly staff who don't push you to finish or order another course.

As above! Read some reviews on here before choosing to visit the restaurant. After looking at the extensive menu decided to go for the Flambe (recommended below) and I wasn't disappointed. The chef brought my steak to me before cooking to show me and it was huge. He cooked it outside on the terrace and i could smell it before... More

The title sums it up. Fish was fine but slightly overcooked (as it often is here). The flambe steak is what puts this place on the map. A wonderful piece of thick fillet about three times normal London size, prepared with brandy, madeira, cream, green peppercorns, worcester sauce, loads of paprika into a rich spicy, just below hot, wonderful copious...
