Lively place on the beach

Rather tricky to find (Or walk along the beach if you´re fit) but well worth the effort. Fantastic place for families - delicious food especially the burgers. English owned, smack on the beach but you need to book in the high season or Sunday lunch.

B.J.'s is well worth the drive along dirt track road to arrive at beach restaurant. Great outside on beach, food varied, fish dishes excellent, although had run out of sardines on our 1st visit due to their popularity ,so go early for lunch. Lovely atmosphere, good service although can get busy. live entertainment on Sunday's good. Well worth a visit... More

We booked a table for four (2 adults, 2 children) for a Sunday in August. My wife and her girlfriends had been here before with the children and I was keen to get along there on our family holiday. I was not disappointed at all. The staff were sharp and on hand at all times. The food was lovely, they... More

on recommendation we tried to find this place on several visits by walking along the beach from Dunas Douradas, we ran out of steam before reaching it in previous years. this time we took a taxi , the unmade road from main road is a tad bumpy but the ride is worth every euro and pot hole This is not... Well worth the plod along the beach to this gem. Don't be put off by the name or talk of staff in daft wigs, this is seriously well cooked food. Good wine list. Professional staff. Would have returned if more time. People say in summer you do need to book. Full of Brits

We have rented a place in the area for 12 months, as my husband has recently retired. Our friends took us to BJ's last Sunday. Right on the beach, up a very potted dirt track road. A great guitarist was singing. Staff are young and fun. They have a selection of hats/wigs they wear. Food isn't fancy and I had... More

Driving back from Quateira we were looking for beach side restaurant. Using only our food finding instinct we turned off the main road and followed a dirt track past a holiday camp, heading in the direction of the sea. To our pleasant surprise we stumbled across BJ's perched on the side of the beach. We enjoyed fresh fish from the... More

We've been to this restaurant a couple of times before, and always enjoyed the location and ambience. A better spot for a glass of wine, right on the beach, you could not ask for. An improvement this time might have been what I ordered - grilled salmon with mussels - absolutely delicious, better than anything I'd tried before. The service... More

We went for a late Sunday lunch and everything was excellent. Food was spot on, nothing to fancy but just done well, service from all the staff is fantastic and they are all constantly looking at each table. Weather was a bit poor so they recommended we take a more sheltered table. Will definitely we returning on our next visit... More

Found by chance, visited a few times and highly recommend. Took a beach walk from Quarteria promenade to Vale do Lobo and on the return walk stumbled across this stunning restaurant with highly motivated and happy staff. Menu is varied to suit any budget. Location may need a car or bike to get to if you are golfing etc.
