All of the food we had in the Cantinetta was wonderful...pasta, steaks, ribs, osso buco, risotto, local wines, etc. Charming atmosphere, beautiful view over the Tuscan landscape, attentive and knowledgeable wait staff are all there. Definitely worth traveling the dirt roads to get there. Order anything on the menu, lunch or dinner, and love it!

This special lunch was definitely worth the trip along a dusty, unmade road. What a stunning location. We sat outside on the pergola covered terrace. The waiters were helpful, if a little brusque, but that may well have been perception due to our lack of Italian language skills. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, so didn't mind our children... More

We came to the restaurant as part of a wine and food "safari" from Florence and had a fixed menu - which was just delicious!! Wonderful starters, soup, meats grilled and roasted to perfection, yummy sides and excellent dessert. While I only glanced at the regular menu, I'm pretty sure that whatever they do is of high quality. The setting... More

The setting is truly amazing. A commanding view of breathtaking rolling hills and vineyards, away from any (touristic) hustle, on a romantic unpaved road between two of the beautiful small towns of Chianti (Montefioralle, Badia di Passignano), few gorgeous old houses on the hill-side, fantastic wine list, real, smiling and super-fast staff, and great food. I would always go for... More

I went to C di R 7 hyears ago and had one of the best meals ever. This week I returned...and it topped it. WSithout doubt one of the best meals ever. The bruschetta was so clean and fresh...an ideal opener. The ricotta filled ravioli with fresh truffle was sublime. A desert island dish for me. My other half had... More

One of two most memorable dining experiences in Tuscany over the course of 15 days. This place was recommended to us by someone who visits the area annually and she was right - it was well worth the trip down a dubious gravel road to find this gem. Food was excellent, views lovely and service good.

We were lucky wnough to visit this off the beaten trail restaurant as part of a Chianti tour - it was the highlight of the day. A scary ride on mostly unpaved road pulled into a small farm drive where the view of the valley was breathtaking. Because of the beautiful weather we ate family style on the terrace -... More

An amazing find, hidden away down some very windy paths- we stopped here as part of a Walkabout chianti tour- fantastic location with amazing views- food was perfect for the group we were with- platters of crostini, pasta and mixed grill with a lovely chianti - the table wine was a bit grainy with the first course. Staff were very... More

Simply great and authentic Tuscan food, heavy on the truffles, porcini mushrooms and rare meat. Big flavours from simple ingredients that speak for themselves. Fresh pasta. Don't expect sauces and spices. Prices are great for what you get. Forget your watch and come for the night. We came back twice and ate some of the best italian food of my... More

The host is Alessandro and he takes particular care to ensure that you enjoy your experience in La Cantina. There is a great selection of local food and the servings are generous and well priced. There is a choice of indoor and outdoor eating depending on the weather and temperature. La Cantina is definitely worth a dinner or two
