This is a little family restaurant in the beautiful area of Chianti in Montefioralle ... Just aprox. 1 - 2 km from Greve in Chianti you can find this restaurant. We have been there for dinner with a reservation and we loved the food and the place.

The food was excellent, service very quick and accommodating, a very enjoyable luncheon experience. We ate outdoors in a small garden area that was relaxing and most pleasant.

During our four week stay in Montefiorrale a mile up from Greve, this was our favorite restaurant. We returned to it often because the food served there was the best we had during our stay. It is a family place. The mother and uncle cook and the daughter is the main server. They are super nice and super friendly. The... More

We were lucky to get the last table, and boy did we enjoy it, from beginning to end. The food was INCREDIBLE. Truffles galore. Great prices, warm and lovely service. Decadent food -- best wild board pappardelle in all of Italy (grandmothers recipe they told us), grilled steak with fresh rosemary, incredible burratta and truffle starter as well. Honestly, we... We hiked up to Montefioralle from Greve in Chianti with our two young children on the promise of a sumptuous lunch for their efforts. It was a Tuesday, but luckily La Castellana was open. We had no reservation but were seated with a warm welcome. The food was terrific and service was just as we like it (attentive but unobtrusive).... More

This was one of the best lunches we had in our two-week trip to Tuscany. We had no reservations, but had no problem in being promptly seated at a table outdoors, with a splendid view of the valley. The host was very pleasant, spoke perfect English. We shared the antipasti; its size was rather generous; good quality as well. I... More
