Wonderful lunch

My wife and I dined at Gallo Nero on our tenth night in Italy. We'd already been to Florence, Venice and Verona and this was our first meal in Greve in Chianti, in the Tuscany region south of Florence. We visited Gallo Nero in February 2015 for lunch. The restaurant has a very warm and comfortable feel about it, and looks to be ideal for families. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. There is a wonderful range of Tuscan wines. I recommend the Tuscan vegetable stew - Ribollita!! I'd certainly go back.

We have been in this restaurant with my wife on the advice of our friends. Outstanding! Fine and traditional cuisine. Try the ravioli stuffed with "pappa al pomodoro"! Delicious, along with an outstanding selection of fine wines from Tuscany. Highly recommended!

We have eaten here a couple of times and the pasta was very good however the steak was not up to the same standard as the pasta. Good food, well prepared and a friendly and staff. This is a place we like to go back to. We have never had any bad experience. The staff is patient and correct. Even when a customer wants to split the bill or asks for ketchup on the pasta with truffles.

After surviving the deeply dark mountainous trek to get to Greve in Chianti, we were sorely in need of some comfort and food. We found both at Gallo Nero. You just must eat here. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.Great food, great service and fair price. I love food, I love Gallo Nero right in the heart of Greve in Chianti.

We had a very nice dinner experience at Gallo Nero. We learned it was a family run restaurant with each member of the family doing a different job. The grandmother prepares the pasta dishes which are excellent and the pork and wild boar dishes were delicious. The beef dishes were also very good but if you want your beef well-done... More
