I chose this restaurant because of the high ratings in Trip Advisor and can confirm that these are justified. There is a wide choice of interesting pasta and meats. We had the gnocchi, papperdelli with wild boar, pumpkin ravioli and fillet steak all of which exceeded expectations. For pudding we had tirimiso panacotta both homemade and delicious and pineapple and... More

We stopped here for lunch. I had the Riboletta, which is a bean and vegetable soup you can stand a spoon in. I also had the mussels and clams. The portions are large, and so both of my dishes could easily have been shared with another. My husband had something that translates into drunken spaghetti, which was delightful pasta with... More

A cold, grey evening in Tuscany was brightened by a visit to Gallo Rosso. Rather smarter in appearance than our usual Tuscan haunts we wondered if we would find it welcoming. Thankfully we were wrong, we, grandparents, daughter and granddaughter were made to feel at home and enjoyed our varied choices from their wide menu. Highlights were the wild boar... More

We heard great reviews on this restaurant and decided to check it ourselves. Well, where should I begin? The service- very profesonal, pleasent and kind. The food- amazing! Especialy the main courses. We order pasta with seafood and their famus steak. In one word- WOW! in few words- the food cooked so well and we enjoyed every minute. When the... More

My husband and I went to Gallo Nero on the recommendation of owners of apartment we stayed in in Greve. The first night we went the food, ambience and service was sensational. When we returned two nights later it was even better. Not because of the food but we were remembered and treated like old friends.. I meet Grandma( back... More

Perfect combination of great service, friendly staff, central location and great food. Family run business with grandma cooking, mom running the front of house and son and daughter waiting tables. Absolutely worth visiting for a meal when in Greve in Chianti.

Having stayed in Grieve many times I’ve tried almost all of the restaurants here, but there is only one place you simply have to go to, Gallo Nero. Pasta and pizza is good but if you are here go out on a limb and treat yourself to the Bistecca. Simply a huge piece of beef cooked rare and presented to... More

We have visited this place twice and enjoyed every time. The meals were fantastic, the service was great, very nice people. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend this restaruant to everyone.

My husband and I visited Italy for the first time in April 2013. We happened upon this restaurant because of the wonderful aromas we encountered as we walked by (we were heading to another restaurant). We had to eat here and we are very glad we did. It was one of our most memorable dinners. My husband and I each... More
