Excellent meal and great wine list in the heart of Chianti

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed. I had a perfectly cooked steak marinated in one of the many outstanding local wines and the wines we ordered to drink were excellent and inexpensive. The restaurant is right on the main road that goes through the town, with plenty of parking a block away.

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel we stayed in and it was a great recommondations! The food was lovely! We ordered pasta and salad to share for starters and then individual meals (steak and seabass) for the main. The dessert menu was too tempting! So with the starters, mains, dessert and a nice bottle of wine (recommended to... More

Based on the TA review, we had our dinner here, and it was such a joy after long drive. All the dishes we ordered are nice, but the exceptional one is the grilled beef tenderloin with pesto. The beef is thick, nicely grilled outside, yet so soft and juice inside. The service is ok, food comes quite fast. Highly recommended.

The wonderful staff at Gallo Nero welcomed us into their restaurant for a cooking class at very short notice. The owner and head chef Mauro Tigli shared with us his 30yrs of experience during the demonstration whilst the lovely Federica translated for us. We were treated to a glass of house wine and were taught how to make 3 traditional... More

We went to this place because of the reviews on trip advisor and we were staying in Greve so we could walk. Popped in during a self catering stay in the region and was not disappointed. Like most restaurants in the region, it is difficult to go too far wrong with a bowl of homemade pasta and a glass of the local Chianti. Helpful and friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Good location and menu.
