Great Tuscan cuisine

This is a really nice restaurant in a very cute town. We tried several soups and appetizers, all very good, especially the traditional Tuscan soup which seems like tomatoes and bread, and the beef cooked for hours in Chianti wine was wonderful. The service was good and the prices very reasonable.

We were renting a farmhouse on the outskirts of Greve and found ourselves walking past Gallo Nero on our numerous visits to the village. Through the windows, the decor appeared a bit too modern for our taste, but the menu posted outside was appealing so we decided to give it a try. We didn't regret it. The place is a... More

This restaurant was very professional and efficient. We had a good meal here very nicely presented. The Lamb off the grill was very tasty, most people were going for grills which did look nice (very rare), I had pumpkin ravioli which did not have much depth of taste. The deserts were nicely presented; semifredo and apple tart.

My fiance and I stopped here for lunch. We had the Rosemary Steak and Wild Boar pasta. The steak was amazing! The pasta was very good as well. The server was very friendly and patient with my less than perfect Italian.

Our family of six enjoyed an amazing dinner, celebrating my parents' 50th anniversary at Gallo Nero! Everything - from the staff to the decor, from the wine to dolce - was impeccable. The dishes all had a lovely presentation, as well. We had many dishes to sample - fagioli beans, ravioli, beef stracatta, grilled vegetables, risotto, filet with rosemary -... More

This restaurant is always busy. We came on Sunday evening. We ordered vegetable soup and risotto with cabbage and bacon as starters. For main, we shared a 1.2kg Fiorentina steak. Food was exceptionally good. We shared a tiramisu and that was superb. We recommend this restaurant to any travelers visiting Greve in Chianti.

After a long day spent with a sally to Arezzo and around we got into this modern restaurant hungry as two stray dogs 'cause we found traditional dishes on the menu sticked on the window. We wanted just some less demanding and simple tastes. I preferred a light risotto... We asked the waiter guy to make my risotto more simple... More
