Very lovely experience

Second best restaurant in this area (the best ist Osteria della Piazza in Piazza/Castellina). Normally no fish. Bistecca not recommended as the owner Filippo is stubborn as a mule and buying second class in Greve. But the view is excellent, and Filippo a delight to watch when flirting with elder... read more

Second best restaurant in this area (the best ist Osteria della Piazza in Piazza/Castellina). Normally no fish. Bistecca not recommended as the owner Filippo is stubborn as a mule and buying second class in Greve. First off they make really great wine here that I drink back in SF so it's really a treat to come back to the town where it's made and have such a great meal. We were actually here for Easter dinner, and everyone at the ristoro made it a special occasion. I attached a bunch of photos of the dishes,... More

Three of us had this restaurant recommended to us by locals and we were not disappointed. The only disappointment was the drive up the narrow winding road only to find it was closed that day so made the trip another time after a phone call to make reservations. When you call to make a reservation ask for a table at... More

During our stay in Greve in Chianti a group of us travelled about 10kls to this restaurant that had been highly recommended to us. It is in a VERY small town called Lamole and was the restaurant find of or 5 week European holiday. Magnificent views over the Tuscany landscape, some of the nicest and best presented food you will... More

We have been to Castellina many times and always, we include a lunch at Lamole. The drive up is often a nail-biter!, but worth it at the end. The restaurant has a commanding view over rolling hills and even to San Gimignano on a clear day. The menu is so tempting, but who can eat everything. We had a bottle... More

We ate here twice in August. Both times we sat on the outdoor patio and observed the sunset over the Chianti countryside. Stunning. The service was excellent, and the food was also. It is a bit high priced, so be prepared.

We came here to eat fresh truffles. What we got were truffles out of a jar and a pastasaus with truffle oil ! This has nothing to do with fresh truffles. The presentation of the food was very "international". Clearly this is a place for tourists. I didn't hear any Italian among the other guests. Nothing wrong with a tourist... More

It's as simple as that. As dish after dish of exquisite food arrives in front of you, the ambience of this fabulously happy place washes over you. Il restoro di lamole you are wonderful, your guests escape from the mundanity of their daily lives, sit back and smile. They can't help it. That's what you do. That is an achievement.

The drive to the restaurant is windey but pretty. The terrace at the restaurant has an amazing view. I have loved every dish I have eaten here- I can highly recommend the pear ravioli and any rabbit dish on the menu. The staff and the owner are always incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. Worth a trip (or multiple trips!)
