One of the best restaurants in all Sicily

Al Fogher was my wife's favourite restaurant in Sicily when she led a trip to the island ten years ago, and it is still our favourite when we visited a few days ago. We sat at a quiet table in the garden and made to feel special guests even though a bus load of patrons was inside. The service... read more

We popped in for lunch here prior to going and seeing the mosaics....we loved it. The food was not as innovatively formal as other places but it was interesting, and tasty and had a more rustic authentic local food feel which was what we were looking for. The service was good, professional and friendly with some good laughs. We enjoyed... More

Dinner among friends. On Wednesday. Restaurant was almost empty. In my opinion also because it is a little bit out of way. If you do not know it, it will be so hard to find it! Anyway, hall is very nice and cozy. Staff is polite and competent. Food is delicious. Great cuisine...with interesting Sicilian touch. Not very expensive, considering... More

We had been recommended this restaurant from a Sicilian friend. We had an excellent dinner in a nice atmosphere with perfect service. We can recommend it to others and we would like to get back if we visit Sicily again. We found the food more like an Europe dinner than typically Sicilian. It was very tasty and the wine from... A bit out of the way, exceptional internal setting, a very attentive, polite and up to date head waiter, intimate feel service, you are given a description of what you are eating, a never ending wine list, exquisite cuisine, top chef (owner). Food was simply great! A bit pricey but worth the money spent, every cent.

We had not intended to lunch at Al Fogher, but when it was given a strong recommendation by the owner of our hotel in Piazza Armerina, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the recommendation. Was it an off day? I do not think so. Every dish was flawed in some way. It... More

We weren't too pleased to find the restaurant empty on a saturday eve but it turned out to be the best dining experience we ever had. The food is divine and the service impeccable. We can't wait to go back.

We showed up very late at this lovely spot along the way (or admittedly, a bit out of the way) from Palermo to Siracusa. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and too late for the tasting menu, but the courses we did take were all delicious. I had a simple meal of grilled vegetables, which despite its simplicity... I wrote in my journal when I got back to the hotel: "fabulous meal -- tasting menu and lovely rosato wine. Seven courses. The chef came to greet us before and after the meal. For the first hour and a half (7:30-9 p.m.), we were the ONLY people in the restaurant. A party of 5 (4 adults and one child)... More

We spent a lovely evening at Al Fogher. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and inventive food. The quail main course was outstanding as was the home made pasta. The three part seafood appetizer, sequencing from hot to warm to cold and then ending with a granita, was a delight. Excellent value. We'd go back if we were staying another night
