Best pasta on town at a great price

Situated next to the Garibaldi Theatre, all tables are outdoors but undercover. The menu is not extensive, but the pasta is fantastic. Group of 4 ate and drank here for less than 50 euro. Staff speak no English, but that is not a problem. Totally recommend this place.

perhaps it was a quiet night for them but didn't seem to be very well patronised. We were offered Sicilian speciality pasta but didn't quite understand what was in it - if meant to be Pasta con Sarde, there was little evidence of any sardine - possibly a bit of anchovy? tasty wild fennel in it but soggy breadcrumbs folded... We stop off every year in Piazza Armerina, and this is only place to eat, believe me! Imagine to our horror when we arrived and found Gianna's closed (for one day only).Having to endure an antipasti round the corner at Teatro (which consisted of various vegetables sott ' olio, or rather oil with vegetables) reinforced just how special, fresh and delicious... Just finished a late lunch there, this afternoon, and had to write a review straight away! First off, you would barely know the restaurant was there only for the outside tables and chairs. But it is just a minutes walk from the main town square and roadway. On the edge of the old town. We passed the restaurant on the... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant by coincidence as we were walking around the old part of Piazza Armerina. The owner was busy preparing fresh dishes and we ended up eating earlier than planned. If you want the real thing and local charm this is the place to visit. The food was tasty, fresh and prepared as we watched. Not more than... More

The place is very small and because it had a large party, we set outside amidst rather cold night. Even more so, we hoped for a nice, tasty dinner. We were dissapointed. The waiter offered us antipasta and pasta de norma as second, this being the special menu for the night. The antipasta was a mix of frittatas which were... More

We came here for lunch after our morning visit to Villa Romana del Casale. I agree with the reviewer who said that Da Gianna is one of the reasons why you love Italy. Our driver couldn't find the restaurant, so Salvatore (who runs the restaurant with his wife Gianna) got in his car and met us to guide us the... More

Ate here on Easter Sunday evening & was the only person there, its tiny with only 3 tables, 14 places (but on warm days they cater for up to 50 including outside, which they'd obviously done at lunch but were still open!). No real menu but Gianna offered fresh pasta & some Easter lamb which were both really tasty &... More

Da Gianna is one of reasons why you love Italy. Good home cooked food typical of the area offered at a good price, warm welcome, lovely dinning outside for dinner, even a complimentary lemoncello before leaving.
