Wonderful food, fantastic atmosphere and, oh, so Italian. As others have said, you can't go wrong with the antipasti della casa starter. My wife and I were pleading for mercy after the 28th dish arrived! Stunning food and well worth a visit.

My husband had the antipasti della casa which was a meal in and of itself. Twelve or more sample dishes He liked everything but the strange bitter olive dish. I had gnocchi with pomodoro sauce. It was just ok. The sauce was more like mellow Campbell tomato soup. I expected chunks of real tomato given home growns are abundant right... More

Excellent service despite a full restaurant inside and out . Excellent meals for us , 2 adults and two teenagers. Not being a person of many words all I can say is that it is friendly well priced and all of the dishes we had were excellent. We were on holiday and had eaten at many restaurants in the area... Gorgeous venue if you eat in the garden. Slightly more "utilitarian" inside. However, I love this rustic decor and if the natives flock here (and they do!!) what better testimony to great food, service and atmosphere do you want? You MUST try the ANTIPASTO DEL CASA. It just keeps coming and coming with fish, meat, vegetable, salad and bread delights... More

We were recommended by our hosts to eat thereand were not dissapointed. We booked a table for Sunday Lunch. It was packed full of very animated italian families. No better place to go than where the locals go. We ordered the antipasti - wow, we were full after that! The pasta was beautiful. No pizza at lunch - big disappointment... More

Since my last review in 2011 I have returned many times and it just gets better. This is real local Italian dining no frills, great food and great house wine and all for a very reasonable price. The staff are caring and attentive, the place has a nice cosy atmosphere and catering for large families appears to be no problem... More

Excellent friendly service and sumptuous food. This place is mostly frequented by Italians... which says a lot. A varied menu to suit all tastes but thier speciality is the Antipasto della Casa.

We visit Alberobello at least twice a year as we have a rental property there. No visit is complete without a visit to Gli Ulivi - it's the only restaurant, in our opinion, that stands out from ther typical tourist joints in town - witnessed by the fact that there are mainly Italians eating here - often in large parties.... In the summer, there are delightful gardens in which to sample traditional Italian fare; in the winter everyone eats in the main restaurant which is decorated by paintings of olive trees. On my most recent visit, in November 2012, the place was almost full of lively, chattering Italians, a good sign. Eat where the locals eat! There were four of... More

Every time I visit Alberobello, I HAVE to have dinner at Gli Ulivi. The first time I went there was 15 years ago and it has never disappointed. The best time of the year to go there, is the summer, as you can sit in the garden. The staff are very friendly, they have my favourite pizza ever (the ciccio... More
