It is well worth the effort to seek this lovely ristorante out when visiting the charming town of Alberobello with the most unusual trulli. If the weather is nice, a seat in the outdoor garden is highly recommended. The antipasti for two and orrechettie with turnip greens were wonderful combined with very friendly service and great local wine. The calmness... More

Just returned from a wonderful lunch (open 12-3) at L'Aratro and I will return. The location while on a touristy street has a lovely quiet terrace and a cozy interior for chilly days. The wait service was excellent, he explained dishes and offered suggestions and even altered a dish for me as I am not an anchovy fan. The chef/owner... More

Lovely trullo restaurant with delicious food and nice selection of wine. Great service. Incredible steak and "tierra" (lamb stew in vegetable based sauce). So delicious that we had to mop off the last trace of the sauce with bread.

We visited L'Aratro twice in our visit to Alberobello purely because it had the best food and atmosphere in that beautiful town. Domenico, the Chef and owner has created a great place to eat with delicious, locally sourced food that really gives visitors to the area a real taste of Puglia. It also has a great selection wine's and local... More

A cool wet day in mid February. Our first visit to Alberobello and being mid week, quite deserted. Several local people advised us to go to L'Aratro for lunch, so we did. Inside the Trullo it was warm and cosy with a fire burning to add to the ambiance. The elegant and friendly waiter advised us to start with the... More

L'Aratro is in one of the traditional trulli houses, and the menu seemed an authentic and local oasis among Alberobello's many ultra-touristy options. I think I would have enjoyed a full meal here, but we got here late, they had closed the kitchen for riposo, and could only offer us a cold salumi and cheese platter. This was very good,... More

This is housed in a trulli and was just beautiful. This restaurant follows the slow food regime – and so the menu recognises slow food products. We had our best pasta dishes through out the stay here... Highly recommend.

We booked this 3 course meal through Travelbound for $40.00 per person. Our voucher said to arrive at 7PM, 7:30P latest. We even rushed from Polignano to be sure we'd get there. It was closed. The normal opening time is 8PM. Even the staff wasn't there yet. But they let us in right away and we didn't mind waiting for... More

Delightful location in a trullo in the most scenic part of town, and the food that we had (on 2 occasions in the same week) was excellent, especially the grilled meats, the orecchiette, and the Negroamaro wine. The service can be a little variable, but the food was cooked to perfection and represented good value.
