This looks a great place to eat, but the food was nothing special, we tried the special appetiser as a starter and we got 9 plates of different foods mainly fish and cheese, but also tripe (not nice). We then both had pasta which was very al dente, quite salty and neither of us finished it, mainly because we were... More

Food was great and portions generous. Service prompt and price reasonable ... good value for the money. The appetizers sampler a great way to be introduced to the local cuisine.

The staff was less personal than in other restaurants in Alberobello. The food was average. Please note that the local wine on the menu for 5 euro is a caraffe. The waiter asked us if we wanted local wine, and we replied yes. A bottle was brought to the table, and 15 euro was charged for the wine. There are... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, Trulli e Puglia B&B. Upon arrival, the Maitre d'Hotel, Michele, gave us a great welcome and recommended various dishes. The plates of antipasti were generous and delicious. Excellent dinner. Highly recommended !

Please believe the reviews that mention the quantity served...it is truly (and unnecessarily) huge. Unfortunately the quality didn't reach similar heights. We ordered the house speciality, mixed hors d'oeuvres, for a minimum of 2 persons. This is priced at 18 Euros...per person, it turns out. For this you get 15 different dishes, many of which are, frankly, unappealing and far... More

Wow! We thought we had experienced great antipasto before but the one served at Trullo d'oro tops them all. One can chose his own items but what the waiter suggested for us was tasty and well cooked. We passed on the primi and secondi piatti as did some of the locals in the restaurant because the antipasto was truly adequate... More

The proprietor of our hotel, La Piccola Corte, recommended this restaurant and it was fabulous; albeit a little difficult to find!! We had a wonderful waiter who suggested the cold antipasti as a starter. This consisted of 9 tasting dishes with small portions of pizza bread, olives, grilled peppers, fried zucchini blossoms, eggplant, white beans on toast, beets and marinated... More

Il Trullo d'oro is a very nice - somewhat hidden- 'trullo' restaurant. We had very nice appetizers (large portion, so if you are not that hungry just order a main course) and then we ordered 'I Classici', three local dishes to share. The food was very good and so was the wine. Unfortunately, we did not try any of the... More

Our very nice front desk clerk recommended this restaurant saying it had an extensive appetizer list and she was not kidding! When we arrived they asked us if we had a reservation, and we didn't. The gentleman proceeded to scan his reservations and found us an amazing table. We had a mixed appetizer plate which consisted of multiple plates that... More
