Definitely Worth A Visit

The first three days of my trip to Germany were solo as my wife was joining me later. Checked this place out. Was a little skeptical at first as it was under a circus tent but glad that I did. Great beer. Let's start there. Homemade. Excellent. No one does hefeweizen like the Germans... read more

I made the mistake of following the entrancing signs put up all along the river area of Bacharach, trying to lure prospective customers to this particular place. I did follow them and finally arrived at a weird backyard place, which sported what was seemingly and old decommissioned carousel, with a bunch of tables and benches located underneath its canopy. The... More

We were surprised to find a bier garten in Bacharach since this part of the Rhein is very much grape growing region. They had four different microbrews on tap. I went with the helles which was very good. It’s quite a funky place; the bier garten is an old carrousel where you sit. There’s a very small restaurant inside, a... More

Had lunch here on a sunny afternoon, view of the Rhine was hindered by plastic curtains put up around the carousel. The food we ordered was very good, Spondekäs and Jägerschnitzel, and the homebrewed beer was very tasty! Service was fast and attentive. The only negative were the zillions of little fruit flies. You had to put something over you... More

We happened upon this while walking in Bacharach. It has a large patio overlooking the Rhine River. We don't speak (or obviously, read) German so had no idea what we wanted to order. The waitress spoke excellent English and offered to review the menu with us. We told her to just bring us two German items that she liked. She... More

Our waitress totally made our experience at this beer garden. She spoke English very well and patiently answered our questions. We both had a schnitzel with the pan fried potatoes. Our waitress asked us a few times if we liked our meal, she seemed very concerned that we enjoyed our meal. We did! The schnitzel was very good and the... More

Our server happened to be the lady who, along with her husband, run the place. She was extremely friendly, spoke good English, and helped us with our wine selections. For €19.70, we had three glasses of excellent local wine, gulasch soup, currywurst, rolls, and a small salad. The rolls were incredible, still warm, crispy on outside and soft on inside.... More

Lots of space with a unique atmosphere. Good menu and beer brewed on site. Good prices overall. Kids had some room to play as well.

Loved this place so much went 3 times for the great beer and once for dinner with the family. Got the nod of approval from my German mother-in-law but it was unnecessary. I knew the food was great. Family speak English well if your German is not good or non-existent. Great views and great hospitality. Also very kid friendly.

Kleines Brauhaus is 100 yards or so from the center of town so most tourists miss it. But, it's well worth the very short walk. They have five great beers that are brewed on the premises and the food was typical German but very good. Seating is either outside under a giant tent or inside a small, quirky room decorated...
