Delicious, charming, scenic meal in Bacharach

This was the first meal we ate in Bacharach. We were very unsure of the menu, not being able to read it. They were very nice to help us with our ordering. We started our visit in the courtyard were it was absolutely beautiful at night but got a bit chilly and moved inside. The food was perfect and the... More

After exploring Bacharach, we sat out in the courtyard and enjoyed a beer while relaxing. Great service and delicious beer.

The best thing about this restaurant is the courtyard. The setting is beautiful. My husband and I ate dinner here and weren't impressed. I had the small portion of roast and my meat tasted like it had been through the microwave. My husband had the Celtic sausage which was fine. The food comes out of the kitchen very quickly, which... On our first night in Bacharach, we walked by this restaurant and were intrigued by the setting and decided to eat here. Where else could we sit in a medieval courtyard for dinner? We were glad we did. My husband had a brat, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I had a "kleine" meal - pot roast with delicious fried potatoes. The... More

Travelers we met in the pastry shop recommended this spot. Look for the huge wooden doors, open when the restaurant is open. Fun, informal setting where you can talk to the people sitting by you, or not. The wait staff was helpful and friendly. Food service was quick. We had a venison sausage dish and a lamb sausage dish. Thee... More

A fairly simple menu but great value. The host was running around cheerily serving a lot of people. Nice food and very efficient.

The food was good and the service excellent. The restaurant is located in a medieval courtyard that, apparently, was a local headquarters of the Knights Templar. After dinner, we had a nice conversation with the owner. When we were ready to leave, we found ourselves in the middle of a downpour. The owner loaned us two umbrellas and told us... More

The Posthof is located right in the centre of Bacharach and there a re a variety of locations you can eat. The Posthof was much cheaper than some of the other locations, however the serving size was not that large for German. The meal was ok but would try somewhere else another time.

After a long hot day of sightseeing, we walked pat the Posthof and decided to go in and try. While we were treated pleasantly, there was nothing outstanding about the service. The sauerbraten was slight tough (compared to other restaurants). The grilled chicken salad was heavy on iceburg lettuce and short on grilled chicken. Average restaurant; not much special about...
