A fairly simple menu but great value. The host was running around cheerily serving a lot of people. Nice food and very efficient.

The food was good and the service excellent. The restaurant is located in a medieval courtyard that, apparently, was a local headquarters of the Knights Templar. After dinner, we had a nice conversation with the owner. When we were ready to leave, we found ourselves in the middle of a downpour. The owner loaned us two umbrellas and told us... More

The Posthof is located right in the centre of Bacharach and there a re a variety of locations you can eat. The Posthof was much cheaper than some of the other locations, however the serving size was not that large for German. The meal was ok but would try somewhere else another time.

After a long hot day of sightseeing, we walked pat the Posthof and decided to go in and try. While we were treated pleasantly, there was nothing outstanding about the service. The sauerbraten was slight tough (compared to other restaurants). The grilled chicken salad was heavy on iceburg lettuce and short on grilled chicken. Average restaurant; not much special about... We made several stops at this quaint little spot during our time in Bacharach. The variety of sausages we had the one time we dined here, were very good, and the portions were reasonable as well. Be prepared to relax, as the service can be a bit slow. But, we had no problem relaxing here as days were warm and... More

If you are in Bacharach, definitely visit here - the location is perfect, the place itself is lovely with a great view up the Hill behind the Town. Great regional-inspired food with excellent sauces, local wines & spirits, and the waiter & waitress were wonderful - attentive, helpful, always smiling and still could find a moment to chat to every... This courtyard ambiance with the best view of the Ruin of the Wernerkapelle overhead and great wine is highly recommended. To complete the experience a harpist played beautiful classical music.

We stopped for wine on our first night in Bacharach and then went back for dinner. Nice outdoor seating. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere.

We've eaten here several times for lunch on two different visits to Bacharach. The service is always friendly, if not prompt. They seem to always be understaffed. We keep coming back because of the quirkiness of the place. The food is average even though a bit overpriced for what you get. For dinner we'd recommend some of the other restaurants... More

Set in a charming courtyard, on a warm day you can enjoy the locally produced rieslings with a few tasting notes provided, and they also specialise in home made sausages, which were all excellent. We ate (and drank) there twice. Closing time is unpredictable so don't leave it too late.
