I loved the decor and the place was crowded on the Friday night that we visited. I was impressed with the menu and the food. But I felt the wait staff needed more training. There a few inconsistentsies in bar and waitress service.

Visited Second Street for a birthday celebration dinner tonight with my wife. We started with the Thai Pop Shrimp which was excellent, great sauce. I had the prime rib, which was excellent, while my wife had the Second Street Pasta dish, which was good. We finished with fresh coffee and creme brule. Nice meal and very well paced and served... the office crew went for a holiday luncheon to this restaurant. They had a very nice separate room for us and took care of 20 of us with no problem. The food was great. My Reuben was huge! The homemade chips and the onion rings were OK.. The salads were large as well.

This restaurant used to operate in its present location but closed a couple of years ago; however, they've now reopened and are doing quite well. The food was tasty and the ambiance was good. The only negative thing I can say is regarding their Happy Hour policy: you can only get a deal on drinks if you go into the... More

great meal and service, we came here for a return visit (last was in July), my husband ordered the lamb meatball small plate and I ordered the beet salad both were really good. Our server was so nice and attentive, the restraint was decorated very festive. Worth the return trip.

Pls provide a helpful vote if you approve. This was our first visit to Second Street's Newport News VA restaurant and we were really surprised! (they have another restaurant in Williamsburg VA about 30 minutes away). We've lived in the area for six years and the building had been vacant for most of that time. So when we decided to... More

From the hostess, the server and the food it was a tremendous experience. My wife and I stopped there for lunch as our regular place was closed and had a big surprise. The old Second Street was ok but the new one is definitely moving towards the top of our dining list. The food was great and very plentifuly, so... More

I sat at the bar and Rachel was my bar tender. We had a really nice conversation and she helped me order the perfect burger. Branden the manager was so nice and spent a lot of time talking to me too. What a great experience. I'll be back for Rachel and Branden and definitely that burger!

We had dinner here last week after having a really great lunch a few months ago. We loved the atmosphere, décor, and service at lunch but dinner was a different story. I had the prime rib, which carries a premium price. It was not close to warm and it was very bland. The mushroom risotto was a good idea but... More
