Very pleasant Italian restaurant. Our server was most efficient and helpful. Had the prawn and aubergine starters, the sauce with the prawns was particularly good. All the mains ,two veal dishes and linguini with seafood were good. The lobster ravioli was extremely good. All mains come with a side salad the meat dishes with pasta and they served focaccia bread.... More

Let's face it, Newport News is NOT the dining capital of the world, but, Al Fresco is one of the best and could compete in a better market. There menu is Northern Italian, with enough Southern fare thrown in to make it interesting. Our party had a person with special dietary needs, and they whipped a very tasty dish that... More

Al Fresco is a superb large "little Italian restaurant." The food is superb, the wait staff is highly knowledgable and attentive, and the decor is exceptional. This is a "white table cloth" restaurant. My wife and I were attending a performance at the Ferguson Center and looking for a nice restaurant in close proximity. We found Al Fresco on Tripadvisor,... We enjoyed a very good meal last night at Al Fresco. Nice ambiance. Veal Verbena and Pollo Portofino were outstanding and the portions were large enough for leftovers. Service attentive and price was reasonable. Definitely a keeper in our new neighborhood.

Stopped at Al Fresco for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Really enjoyed my veal parmigiana. Very tender veal with tasty marinara and plenty of cheese. Had the Caesar salad with, well done. My wife had pasta and a Caesar. Great meal.

This restaurant serves the best Italian food in Hampton Roads. The linguini al vongole is exceptional. All the dishes are great. Service is friendly and prompt. Wine list is extensive and has something at every price point. Many people come here to dine prior to a show at the Ferguson Center. On those nights especially, you need a reservation.l

I reserved a table for two on Open Table for Al Fresco for 7pm on a Saturday, and almost immediately had a phone call from them asking me to change my reservation to 7:30. Apparently they had overbooked the time slot, and were calling many of the patrons asking for time changes. We arrived at 7:20 and were promptly seated,... More
