We are local and have been eating at the Vineyards (this one and the second restaurant in Norfolk) since they took over from Doraldo's. It is our favorite Italian restaurant. We stopped by last Fri night (7 Dec). The place was maybe half full but with a BIG group in the back dining room. The hostess was a younger girl... More

While the service can be rather slow they are always very friendly. The food can take a while but is always very good. Love the garlic knots as well. Used to go to Tuscany in Denbigh but Vinyards is always better and after my last visit recently to Tuscany I will NOT be going back there any time soon....I will... More

Last Sunday we held a surprise appreciation dinner at The Vineyards in honor of our pastor for Clergy Appreciation Month. I must say, I have never written a review before, but I had to write one to tell everyone about our experience. From the time I first spoke to the event coordinator (Pamela), to the time our last guest left... More

Most food at The Vineyards is very good; however their red sauce tastes like it was poured from a can of tomatoes. It is tasteless and "raw". I hope the owners are reading these reviews, because I cannot say that this is an excellent Italian restaurant. Otherwise, it is good.

We have enjoyed The Vineyards since moving here and eaten there many times and also gotten pizza to go. The food remains excellent but they are overpromising in regards to service; even with reservations you will wait another 30 minutes from your time requested and to go orders are not ready at the time they tell you on the phone.... This is a terrific gem of a restaurant!! Each meal that I have eaten here has been fabulous. Prices are good, food excellent, service always lovely and gracious. They also offer very attractive specials for couples who are interested in mid-week dining out. You are really missing a top notch Italian dining experience if you don't go to The Vineyards!!!

I almost didn't write this review as I don,t want to share this one with the world. I grew up in an Italian family who loved the cuisine. I remember visiting Mama Of Mama Leonis in the Kitchen as a child. I do know Italian. This is the real deal. My favorite is Seafood Christina, yum. The pasta is cooked... More

We found this restaurant on Restaurant.com. Not knowing what to expect we went last minute. We got there and the hostess asked if we had a reservation (there were three of us). We said no that we didn't know we needed to make one. The restaurant was pretty crowded. By this time is was 7 o'clock and we thought oh... More

My husband & I visited The Vineyards restaurant in Newport News during trip there last weekend. We shared a Fried Calamari which was cooked exactly correct. Then both of us had a veal main course. Both were very delicious and quite a lot to eat. We shared a Tirimasu that was very delicious as well. They have a small wine... More

My family of 4 visited on a tuesday at 7. The restaurant was packed, there was no place to sit or stand but we got seated after waiting for a hostess for a few minutes. The waiter was rushing around doing his best to keep up but we didn't get any bread or salad for 25 minutes. The food was... More
