Not Jack Tripper's Bistro

The people are nice. I liked it that the owner/chef was nicknamed Gilligan. Their website showed some vegetarian items but the menu I was handed did not. We happened upon the Pearl Bistro accidentally on the way to the beach and were not disappointed. The ambiance on the patio was relaxing and delightful, the food flavorful and artfully presented, and the service exceptional. Great place for lunch, dinner, or drinks. You won't be disappointed!

This restaurant is American food. French do not use iceberg lettuce. They savor their meals with lots of courses. The food was average, but a bit disappointing , when you were expecting gourmet.

I'm sorry that you didn't get the experience you were looking for. We are currently moving away from being a French restaurant and we're expanding to include fusion and dishes inspired by other regions. I'll make sure that our website and page information isn't misleading, thank you for letting us know that you were expecting French cuisine. I'll be sure... More

I had the French Onion Soup and the quiche and both were excellent. The quiche was extremely light and fluffy. Service was excellent, the place was very quaint. I was very surprised that it was not very busy for lunch. I would highly recommend.

We tried Pearl for my husband's birthday. This restaurant is a pleasant surprise. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once you enter, you immediately feel as though you've stepped in to a French bistro. Our server was a friendly, attentive young woman, who truly did service with a smile from start to finish. We started our meal... More

Without a doubt, the best restaurant in the area. It's always a stop when I'm in town. Become a regular and they'll treat you like part of the family. Shout out to Regina...and Cody. The food is amazing...and reasonable. This time out, had the potstickers--interesting fusion ($15), a huge filet ($38), and a lemon posset for dessert ($6.95). Had Regina... More

We popped in here only because we were in the office park next door. It looks exactly like a real French bistro. Only missing the old men smoking over their newspapers... Now, I have traveled all over the world and have a pretty decent palate. .. We ordered something simple: french onion soup and Caesar salads. The soup is literally... More

A wonderful experience from the moment we stepped in the door to when we left. The staff was very attentive, friendly and detailed. In my opinion, they have the best restaurant staff in Hampton Roads. We went for restaurant week and we were impressed. Our favorite dishes of the evening were the Seafood Trio (Salmon, delicious marinated shrimp, and an... More
