Sensational food

One of our favourite Provencal restaurants. L'Arome is a credit to the lovely village of Bonnieux. Very characterful wherever you sit - there is the more modern upstairs or the vaulted cellars below (which I would recommend). Service can be on the formal side, but is not at all unfriendly. And the... read more

We went to L'Arome because it was recommended on Trip Advisor as one of the better restaurants in Bonnieux. We went as a couple the first time and went back again as a family group to celebrate our last night in Bonnieux. Reservations are recommended. The first time we sat on the terrace which is situated in a quaint alleyway... More

Just a brief review as I am now on review number three of the best restaurants (to my mind and experience) in Bonnieux. L'Aroma is the most formal of the dining experiences and a very elegant and well polished experience at that. Simply excellent food and excellent staff; what you would expect from a fine dining experience in this country... More

We turned up without a reservation and the very nice staff found us a good table near the front of the restaurant. The food was of a high quality. We had the beef and sea bream which were both excellent. Of the three restaurants we were at in bonnieux this was the best by far.

This is the “name” restaurant in Bonnieux. They have a fairly small outside dining area, so if you want to eat outside, you should definitely make a reservation, and in any case, reservations are recommended. We didn’t make one, though we tried but couldn’t get through on the phone number we had, so we arrived a little earlier than we... More

The first thing to say about L'Arome is that the food is good. Well cooked and nicely presented in a very pleasant setting. If that is all you need for an enjoyable dinner - at around 80-100 Euros per person - then this restaurant will suit you fine. Personally I look for a lot more than that...... The four of... More

Although we were disappointed in many of the restaurants we tried in Provence, our meal at L'Arome was just what we were hoping for. We ran into friends just about to order so we asked to be together at a table for four. The owner was gracious and accommodating. We ate outside watching the world go by, although the interior... We very much enjoyed our visit to l'Arome. Good service, nicely presented food with loads of flavour. We had the menu truffes and enjoyed every course.

Remember the classic model? She was in the front of the house, he was in the kitchen. Yep, that's it here. Stick with "le menu" and a wine from Luberon or Ventoux. Greatly liked here.

Really, really good meal. We had 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, and a bottle of wine. Total was $160 euros. Everything was great except the desert which was just good. Definitely recommend. It was one of the best meals we've had so far in France.
