Family lunch

Good service and excellent food. No high chairs if you are thinking of taking little ones. Menus are on the wall and in French (as you would expect).

Situated on the central section of the harbour in Saint Martin de Re, this little bistro is fantastic. Food is unfussy and excellent. Staff work hard to ensure things go reasonably smoothly. It doesn't always work but that just adds to the atmosphere. The day we eat, for example, a passing van knocked out a section of one of the... More

Excellent food, not overly complicated, just fresh and prepared perfectly, traveled through France for the past week & this has been the best meal so far, service was excellent also with a full house and a line of people out the door waiting staff were efficient and observant. Good value also!

Have been eating here for eight years now and the secret to this restaurants success is simplicity. No set menus, just a few entrees a few plats and a couple of daily specials. It is very popular and it does not take reservations so I would advise to get there around 7 to get a table. Staff are very friendly... More

This place always seems busy but I don't really understand why other than the good location. The food is average and expensive for what it is. The service was good though. I'm so uninspired by this place I can't even be bothered to write a long review. It's not that it is dreadful just not at all special.

We loved the atmosphere here. Easy gong and friendly service. My entree (fish) was excellent but my husband who also ordered fish had a blackened piece of fish with the burnt side turned down. The potatoes fries were served cold. I understand that they were very busy but that is no excuse. I also ordered a glass of Sancerre white... More

This seemed to be the place to eat, and I believe it is. It was packed with people waiting for tables inside and out. Being early April after one of the first warm sunny days of the year the temperature dropped as the stars came out, this did not deter outside dinners. We thankfully got a table inside after a... Great food and vibe, lovely wine and friendly helpful and hard working staff. You can't book so either turn up early or be prepared to wait because this place is popular. I shared the entrecôte with a friend and it was fantastic, I got it as the chef cooked it so it was rare but not still kicking, tasted amazing.... More

Really good, down to earth French bistrot. We had swordfish with broccoli purée and shrimp in a garlicky "persillade" sauce. Delicious, simple, friendly service and affordable. I highly recommend it!
