Nice meat, avoid the fish

Nice view, great service, quite expensive, and let down by the experimental and misguided cooking of the chef. Meat dishes were cooked well and well flavoured, but the fish dishes were awful, over flavoured destroying the taste of the fish or putting inappropriate ingredients in the meal. Would... read more

Would recommend for meat, but a bit too experimental whilst not actually delivering.

We were staying in Bayeux and asked the hotel to recommend a good fish restaurant - they recommended La Marine, Arromanches. We went on a, very dark and wet, October evening - so I can't comment on the view, but having visited Arromanches itself earlier in the day, I can only assume that on a summer's night the view is... We are here multiple nights and never disappointed. Wonderful views of the water and has a bar where you sit outside if the weather is agreeable. The staff is pleasant and attentive. It can get very busy on the weekends. The seafood is very good, especially the mussels and the oysters. The fish soup is excellent and rich. They have... More

Attentive service, really fresh seafood at an outstanding location. Kitchen happy to work around my fairy allergy. Busy even in the quiet month of October.

The restaurant is right next to the water with indoor and outdoor tables that look out on the remains of the WWII harbor. The service was very good, We had the mussels and fries. The portions were huge. The sauce was cider-based and would have enjoyed some garlic, but that's just me. The house cider from nearby was really lovely.... More

There is not much of an option for dinner in town. This is the best place available and you will need to reserve a table if you plan to eat here for dinner.

Gorgeous view over the sea but apart from this the entire experience was disappointing. The service was fine but the menu was very limited, exorbitantly overpriced and the food when it came out was bland plain and a let down to expectation considering the cost. The beer and wine was almost twice as expensive as other restaurants in the vicinity.

After visiting the very thought provoking museum of the Normandy landings and the building of the Mulberry harbour, we retired to the restaurant of La Marine hotel to contemplate what we had seen and learned. Fortunately, we arrived just as a most desirable table had been cancelled and were therefore able to sit in the window with a marvellous view... More

The waiter told us the mussels were the best in France, and although we haven't tasted them all over, these were delicious!!! Very large portion, and the cream sauce was to die for with plenty to dip the crusty bread in!!! I had the fish and chips...nothing to rave about, but will overlook this because of the mussels, the service... More

Located at Gold Beach, the restaurant in this hotel is a great choice for fresh fish. I had the monk fish which was served over pasta and it was very good. The gazpacho was excellent. As was the cheese course. While we dined on the early side, the restuarant did get crowded and noisy as the evening wore on.
