A pleasant stop on a cold day

Stopped in for lunch after walking 6-7 miles from Bayeux. Lovely and warm on a very cold day. The staff I met did not speak much English but understood my poor French and were patient and helpful. Delicious vegetarian ratatouille and half a cider went down a treat. Vegetarian food is not... read more

Expensive for second rate food, try somewhere else, Shame really, but the restaurant and its restrictive hours and practices spoilt any chance of a sociable dinner.

This place is right near the museum and Arromanches beach where the British landed. It is a very touristy area, so there aren’t many good places to grab a decent meal. The options were limited when we came for a late lunch, with a few places closing close to 2, so be prepared. We had the croque monsieur sandwiches that... More

My family had lunch there on boxing day because it was one of the few opened with a view of the sea. Service was average but satisfactory. We had 2 galette, a pot of mussels, 2 sweet crepes and a coffee for just about €50, a modest price. The galette was not as outstanding at the one I had at... More

My wife and I eat here each time we come to Arromanches and always enjoy it. The seafood platter here is very well put together, starters well presented without being pretentioys. The fish, meat and vegetables are nicely cooked. Wine is reasonably priced. Only the desserts lack a bit of imagination (as is quite common in France). Overall excellent value.

Had lunch here whilst touring the British landing beaches. Ordered the muscles in white wine sauce en frites. Chips were thrown on a plate and some fell off when put down on the table, muscles were on the whole ok but had to pass on several of them as grey or so small it wasn't worth it. Wouldn't go again

Service was only average, elements of my fruits de mer was, I suspect from the freezer. Some of my group had mussels and they were small and salty.

We booked for 7.30pm a table of 11, the waiter ignored us for some time and then said he was busy and our reservation had been for 7pm. Service for the remainder of the evening was classic French surly, ALMOST funny. Food ok.

The dining room is not pretty by any means but in France that is often the case. The paradox for us was that whilst the Bulots (Whelks) were the best I have ever had anywhere and my wife loved her Soupe de Poissons, we were "served" by a young waiter who was very obviously sloshed. He had to be reminded... More

Wish I'd read TA rather than chosen from the menu outside. Everything was perfectly acceptable in every way but with hindsight I could have done better. Menu felt like it was done to a price.
