Great location, great name but isn't the same anymore

The hotel is located in the center of the smallest city in the world. It has a great name for gastronomic weekends. But For me that's from a long time ago. Dinner in the restaurant is not bad but you can't call it excellent. Be sure to have a room in the main hotel, we were in the auberge and... read more

We went there with the family for a gastronomic weekend and were not disappointed. Although the restaurant fits a lot of people, the setting was very cosy. The dishes were well prepared and of excellent taste but a bit too traditional. Don't expect to discover he unknown. Although vegetarians are dealt with, it's not thé place for them. So a... More

Some people say that the Sanglier des Ardennes lives on its reputation. We cannot judge the food for lunch or dinner but we did enjoy the brunch on Sunday. It is a bit expensive (40€/p) so make sure to go on an empty stomach :-) The quality of the food and the supply are there for sure. Staff is friendly... More

After experiencing so many poor to average hotels, in the mid-range price in Belgium, I was astonished to find such a classy boutique hotel in the center of Durbuy. Our room was one of the nicest I've ever had with its view of the river from a window seat set deep into the projecting window. The bathroom with rainfall style... More

Second time we went there and it was disappointing. My first stater was a real disaster for this kind of restaurant. It was more something you can get in a "cantine" but that you don't expect from Mr Cardinael 's cuisine. The service was good and with the appropriate attention. The two things that I'll recall are the Champagne Taittinger... More

I had a most enjoyable meal here. Good quality, excellent service and feeling pampered... Not for nothing the top address in Durbuy, worthwhile the detour!

Every years , it grows but the quality go down . Live on his past glory . Outdated lounge , staff ( I do not call that a staff ! ) . Food served is no more what it was years ago ... Prices are way to high !!! Instead of buying half Durbuy , go back to basic ...

The food during lunch probably survived the plate from the day before. Despite reaction, the food stayed outdated. Even the servant was ashamed and apoligized. We tried some soop, but this was no soop, it tasted like an old belt of vegetables and mushroom, topped with too much salt and pepper. Probably in order to try to save what could... More

Nice resto a bit "aged" but stylish. Good and professional staff. Rich choice, not only local/traditional but quite a vast offering. Democratic and interesting winelist. The last time we visited, we had dinner "al fresco" on the terrace. The year before, we still could enjoy an after-dinner digestivo and cigar in the designated salon. Le Sanglier is (to us) not...
