You need to go. Most authentic

The Indio Viejo and Nacatamal is to die for. Do not pass up on a chance like this to eat real Nicaragua food. Nothing else does the food justice like this place. You will certainly find locals here as well, which is a good indicator.

Would have missed this place if our guide didn't point it out to us. Granada is filled with touristy restaurants with westernized food, so it was nice to find a place where we could try some local dishes like Indio Viejo. When we went do lunch we were the only foreigners in the restaurant. Highly recommended!

The food here was fine rather than great and it is a very simple place but locals dine here so probably quite authentic

We ate there last night and enjoyed our meals but found that there was a 25% charge on the bill for tax and tip, but the waiter made a point of telling us that it did not include the tip (typically 10%). We took the check to the manager to find out why we were charged extra if the tip... More

We had a delicious local meal here. I highly recommend the cerdo con yucca (pork with yucca) and indio viejo. The cerdo con yucca is similar to vigorón. It is roasted pork meat with yucca and the same type of salad used in vigoron (cabbage and tomato). Indio viejo is another typical Nica dish. It's prepared with a fat piece... More

Despite being highly recommended by the Lonely Planet guide, I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. Our visit started off promising as they had some nice outdoor tables on the plaza. We quickly regretted this decision as within 10 minutes we had about 6 people trying to sell us stuff. Most of it was crap though there were... More

The owner, Winston and his top man Bismarck, will bend over backwards to please you and make your dining memorable. The food is not just like your mother made, it is made by Winston's mother. You will find dishes you will not elsewhere. Try the chicken in pineapple. Drinks are huge, just like Winston's smile and belly (too much of... More

One of my favorite spots on the Calzada. Comfortable interior, clean bathrooms and a nice patio seating area. Typical Nica food done right!! Prices are fair and you can always negotiate a different 2 for 1 drink than what's on the sale board. Evening waiters Bismarck, and Sylvio are a blast when you get to know them....very friendly and eager... More

We really wanted to try some Nacatamales - a local dish that is similar to stuffed polenta - and this was definitely the right place! Not the quickest service ever, but very friendly! The food was really tasty, and the prices were more than democratic! :) We would not hesitate to go back!

I have eaten here on several different occasions, all of which were excellent. My favorite is the chorizada then the campesino. Please have a look at the photos and menu. In the background you can see the small salad too! Great local place.
