If you know how to enjoy a world class restaurant, you will love this place. Service, food, attention to detail are on par with many restaurants we have enjoyed all over the world from Dubai to New York. The beauty of El Zaguan, of course, is the incredibly reasonable prices for great food and wine. The trick is to be... More

We've been there a couple of time, their fish and meat are really nice. Service is not bad (for Nicaragua) and the atmosphere is simple but nice. The price is a little too much but the taste of the food is good at least for the main plates. The starters were not really amazing.

We went here for romantic honeymoon dinner based on tripadvisor.com and New York Times reviews. We were seated in the bar, despite our request to sit in the garden and being the only patrons in the place. We ordered two steaks, medium, on the blaze recommendation of our waiter. The cooks rang the bell for our food for five minutes... More

I ate dinner here three times in one week. It's very well priced. They use filtered water for the ice- which I had no problems with. The filet mignon with mushrooms was the best. They wrap a piece of bacon around the outside of it. Superb!!

Definitely one of the best steaks I have ever had, melts in your mouth. Nice ambiance too. Service is courteous, can be on the slower side when it's busy, but then again with all the heat outside you can't be in that much of a rush.

This is a true Nicaraguan restaurant. There were many locals both times we went - It was not just tourists. They have an open grill where you can see chicken, sausages and steak cooking. The decor is simple, but the service is very professional. We had the fish - be aware that if you do not get a filet, you... More

Have eaten here many times but have yet to leave a review. Their steaks are very good and tender, can't go wrong eating here.

We had our first and last Granada meals here and the food was consistently great. We especially recommend the corvina (fish) and churasco (steak) with chimichurri sauce. (A side note -- el Zaguan and Claraboya, it's sister restaurant next door, were the only restaurants we ate in where Nicaraguans were dining along with us.)

I've had the pleasure of dining at El Zaguan on two occasions - both exceeded my expectations. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is unique and colonial, but most importantly the food is outstanding. I had a bacon wrapped filet this last time, and it was the best steak I've had in recent memory.
