i went to El Zagual early on a Sunday evening without a reservation. The restaurant was not too busy, although it filled up later. I ordered the vigorón plus costillas de cerdo, it was a pork fest! All delicious, food came quickly, and service was efficient. Having read some of the reviews I was expecting the service to be on... More

I ate here on a Friday night in November with 5 friends. We had all been eating vegetarian food for about two weeks at our Spanish Language School and after consulting Tripadvisor, we decided to try El Zaguan so we could have some meat on our big night out in Granada. Between the six of us we tried the Steak... More

My guidebook said that Zaguan has the best steak in Nicaragua. Since it's the only beef I have had in Nicaragua so far, I can't comment other than to say that the beef was darn good. It was tender and tasted as if it was grass fed. My partner had the filet and I had the tenderloin. Both were tender... More

I ordered grill chicken breast, and the plate came out with two pieces of very moist and tender chicken, each the size of my fist. Service was excellent and the price extremely reasonable (if memory serves me, the menu price for my meal was a ridiculous 375 Codoba -- about US$15). Would definitely go here again.

Whilst visiting Granada we had a meal here. The restaurant was completely full and we were lucky to get the last table. We got small salads and hot garlic bread whilst waiting for steaks. We all had fillet steaks with different sauces etc. this was one of the best steaks I have had anywhere. It was so juicy and succulent... More

Late lunch, really good steaks cooked over charcoal. I've heard good things about Nicaraguan beef and this is a confirmation. Very attentive and friendly service

I came down to Granada by myself for a few days and el Zaguan came highly recommended. The first time I ate there was on a weekday and I received good food and service. So I decided to return on Saturday but ended up having the worst service I've ever encountered in a restaurant. In fact I've never posted an... More

I travelled to Grenada for a few days by myself and this restuarant was highly recommended. The first time I went was on a weekday and it was not busy. Both the food and service were good. However I returned on a Saturday night and experienced the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. 15 minutes went by without... More

Stopped by for lunch while visiting Granada for the day. Had a lovely meal of the rainbow bass from Lake Nicaragua. It was some of the best fish I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. This is a very busy place with it's location and quality of food. Had performers that sang but pushed for a tip, which in a... More
