This place was really good. They wash all of their food in bottled water and have separate Thai and European kitchens. Great if you want to taste some authentic Thai dishes but don't want to worry about getting sick! My Panang curry was so good! (I hope I spelled that correctly). The staff are... read more

It is exactly what they say a family restaurant. The food is good like the service. Good European dishes with excellent French fries. Nothing fancy but just what you might expect from a family restaurant. We did not try the Thai dishes except our standard starter spring rolls. And they were excellent.

This restaurant had good food and the waiter spoke decent English. And they had a few good vegetarian options, which my wife enjoyed. And the pet kitten was cute

The first night we were in town I asked, 'do you have tofu?' on the second night the guy sent one of staff out to get it. The meals were a good size and very tasty. A small fountain, some orchids and candles created a nice atmosphere in an otherwise plain and basic surroundings.

A no nonsense restaurant with a great selection of food from traditional Thai and including some western selections. What impressed me most was their ability to adapt their dishes to cater for vegetarians which is a rare thing in Thailand!

Kai bae beach isn't a place for culinary delights. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place to stay but the restaurants are pretty poor. Mak Mak is a little better than most of the other places and offers enough to keep you from starving while wondering where to eat next. The dude next door cooks up the pizzas which... More

Really great restaurant great food friendly and genuine service. Cold beer and reasonable prices. If they had been open when we first arrived on koh chang we would have eaten there on most days.

Had a couple of meals at Mak Mak and really enjoyed both of them. It serves great value Thai and European food and is a really friendly place. If we had stayed another week I am sure we would have made another couple of visits...
