Outstanding Seafood!

Ray's is by far the best seafood place in the area. Located about 15 minutes off of Chincoteague Island on Rte. 175, I had one of the best blackened tuna steaks I ever had. Waits can be long especially on Lobster night, but it is well worth it!

Basically all seafood. And yes, I do understand that this is a seafood restaurant. Although not busy, wait staff seemed to be irritated and rather curt with answers about menu questions. I tried ordering a vegetarian plate, but was quickly told that they didn’t serve vegetables. I asked if I could get (3 or 4 items) i.e. a baked potato,... More

We arrived 15 minutes before they opened and were gracious enough to welcome us in. Ray came by to say hello and ask how everything was. I had the crab cake sandwich and the homemade french fries and they were amazing! My husband had the shrimp on rice and said it was some of the best he had eaten. After... More

My group of 9 dined at Ray's in search of a fresh seafood dinner. The result was the best combination of food and service we have experienced in a long time. Our server, Denise, went out of her way to provide excellent service and a memorable dining experience. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the seafood is... More

Very casual atmosphere with a friendly staff. We had flounder, steamed shrimp, crab cakes, and tuna. Everyone enjoyed their meal- the tuna was a tad over cooked but everything else was spot on. Would definitely come back.

Have tried other items here, but the main reason we go is for their Steam Shrimp. We order by the 1/2 lb or pound, then order our sides, cole slaw is good, as are the hush puppies. Very reasonable ordering this way.

Four of us enjoyed dinner at Ray's last night. Nothing fancy but the crab cakes were very good (no filler or shells), big shrimp salad sandwiches, and nice fresh greens in the garden salads. The seafood chowder was tasty with a good amount of little scallops. The Manhatten clam chowder was tasty but short on clams.

The place is very good for area. The fish platter was plentiful and fried to perfection. Service was very good and the prices were reasonable. Overall a good value for the area. Better food than what I had anywhere on chincoteague island.

My family LOVES seafood and Ray's was recommended by Garden & Sea B&B! We didn't call in to reserve a table, but being early June we were fortunate we didn't have to wait for too long to be seated. The staff was great and the food was even better!!! Next time we visit the area we definitely will stop by... More

Best shrimp in the area, fresh and not over cooked! Had the shrimp & scallop combo. The scallops were also fresh and caught locally. My wife had steak and said it was the best she has ever had. We both had way more than we could eat of excellent food. You may have to wait to be seated, but it's... More
