The only reason this restaurant does well is it has virtually no competition in the area. Our driver dropped us here one day. There is one other sit down restaurant next door, but it may or may not be open for lunch. The menu selection is fair. But if it's hot, you are outside and boiling. Tamarin is always hot.... More

we were welcome by the owner who showed to our table and took our drinks order. The waiter was curteous and the food and wine very good. I would recommend this resaurant.

I would give this restaurant 5 stars but unfortunately their menu has recently been changed and a lot of the best items have been removed for some reason...However it is still one of my fave places to eat in Tamarin! The service is consistently good, the location and restaurant itself is very pleasant. The kids get to make their own... More

Good restaurants are rare in the Tamarin/Black River/Flic en Flac area outside of the very expensive hotel restaurants. Le Whatever is a sure bet if you love Modern French cuisine with a local Mauritian touch. On top of that, the wine list (all French wine) is extensive with a very good quality-price ratio as it's also a wine shop. Usually... More

I had mixed feelings about this restaurant and would probably have rated it "good" if I had been able to. The service was friendly and efficient. The staff seem to have been well trained. We were not kept waiting for our first course. The ravioles of crab were really excellent, with a background hint of combava. The oxtail & foie... More

I went there in September and although it is quite remote, the food was very good. It is a little pricey but the wine is affordable and the foie gras is really nice. I would definitely go there again to have dinner. Would have been nice if it was closer to my place. Would have been a regular customer :)

I reviewed this restaurant last year and have been back twice in the last week with my wife for lunch. Contrary to some other reviews we could not fault the service but then we haven't been in the evening when it may well be busier. That said, the waiters were both friendly and attentive. On our first occasion we had... More

We go there when we are longing for a nice culinary evening or for a celebration. The owners are nice and open about constructive feedback; innovative in their menu approach for the Chef’s suggestions. Veronique and Alain will always take the time to greet you, advise you on the wine and get feedback from you on your experience. Service is... More
