This is the kind of restaurant we ordinarily try to avoid - charming decor with a captive audience of museum goers to ensure a constant flow of patrons no matter how good or bad the food. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Three of us ordered salads and they were without exception spectacular. My wife's steak salad - quotidian choice... More

We thought it would be nice to have a sit down lunch at an historic place. The ambience was good, but the food was okay. My husband raved about his fried green tomato sandwich, which left me wishing I had ordered that rather than the turkey pot pie which ended up being frozen. The peanut butter soup was worth tasting,... More

My friend and I enjoyed a meal here this afternoon, and the food was good, but what was so fantastic was the service! The greeters were kind, not irritated even though it is their busy tourist season, and our server was attentive without being intrusive. I also noticed their me u has expanded since my last visit (over a year... More

This place is a most seen, so tour George's House and join this restaurant for lunch, it is beautiful and delicious! Small menu but very well executed, very nice wine list and deserts. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the food. Even the wine glasses are cute! you will not regret the time or money spent here.

If your going to visit the Historical home of George Washington, you MUST enjoy a meal at this delicious restaurant! We shared a bowl of "Mushroom soup and a Cobb Salad"! Then off we went to see our 1st President of the United States of America's home over looking the Potomac River! Lots of delicious items to choose from for... More

The restaurant has very good food and is very reasonably priced. The waits are usually not very long considering how much traffic the place gets. I got the pulled pork sandwich and a glass of wine, and my bill was around $20. I recommend eating there not only for the experience, but for the food as well!

Need a quick bite before, during, or after your Mt Vernon visit? Check out the Inn! We had great food and great service all at a reasonable price. It can get crazy busy here, so try to avoid lunchtime. We've eaten here at 11:30 and 1:30, which was much more reasonable. Best food experience I've had at a tourist attraction!

This was a pleasant surprise! We were out spending the day at Mt Vernon. After a full morning we wanted lunch and the choices were limited on the grounds of Mt Vernon. It is either the food court or the Inn's restaurant. Since we were visiting on a Saturday the place was packed with school kids so we opted for... More

We stopped here after our visit of Mt. Vernon and we are so glad we did. We started off with some complimentary bread, the hoe cake and some wine... absolutely delicious! We then had the applewood pork chop, half of duck, the warm mushroom salad, and a burger... all delicious. I will tell ya, the peanut soup is delicious but... More
