Good food, not worth the hype...

I really enjoyed the food there, we had an amazing soup of the day which was made my chantrell mushrooms. And some pull pork sandwich with home made chips. I really enjoyed the food and the cozyness.

We arrived at the inn for lunch at 2:30 - one hour before they closed - only to be told that there were closing an hour early to prepare for a private function. Aaargh! Thankfully, they suggested we head to the bar area and see if they were still taking food orders. The very nice bartender, who has worked there... More

This restaurant is right outside of the entrance gate to Historic Mount Vernon, the Home of George Washington. Went in and made a reservation for dinner for after our tour of the home and grounds. This was New Year's Day and it was very crowded but the hostess was very accommodating and made sure we had our reservation down before... More

The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is located at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate. There are working fireplaces to warm diners on a chilly day. Our server was Elizabeth and she was very knowledgable about the menu offerings. I selected the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Wow! The food was very well prepared and the meatloaf was outstanding! My... More

Visited Mount Vernon today with family. We decided to try the Mount Vernon Inn restaurant as there are no other local restaurants. I cannot begin to tell you how pleasantly surprised were by both the quality of our meal, as well as the cost of the meal. Generally speaking, a tourist attraction I believe it is fair to say meals... More

On our day trip to Mount Vernon, we had lunch at the Inn. The dining rooms in the Inn are all period and a step back in time, decorated the way they would have been in Washington’s day. The food was a very pleasant surprise!! We ordered three appetizers—cornbread with vanilla butter, artichoke dip with fried bread, and fried green... More

Booked a reservation in conjunction with tour of Mt. Vernon. We entered via gift shop. The transition from tourist ticky-tack to dining is a little disconcerting. There is a pleasant room with fireplace to relax in while waiting to be seated. We were seated and supplied with menus and specials. Our server was pleasant and knowledgable. A manager was also... After touring Mt Vernon Estate or biking or hiking the Mt Vernon Parkway, check out the happy hour specials at the Inn! Seasonal drinks and great appetizers! Staff are great and welcoming! You can rent bikes at the parking lot at the Estate, so stop in after your ride!!!
