Good food - Friendly service - Fare prices

If you find yourself in this part of Virginia (visiting Stratford Hall for example) this is the place for a casual meal. You will experience huge portions, fare prices, friendly wait staff, and tasty fresh food.

Angelo's is a neat little place in the tiny town of Montross, VA. We stopped here for dinner after spending all day at a festival south of the area. Instead of the dining area found when you first walk in, we took a right and sat with some friends of ours. Turns out they had just come from the same... More

We were two couples staying at the Manor at General's Ridge Vineyard and looking for someplace nearby to get some good seafood. Everyone recommended Angelo's Pizza which was great as we would probably never have gone there (for seafood) otherwise. When you enter the main restaurant there is a family-feeling area with an open kitchen; over to the right thru... More

Great pizza find. We're just passing through and came here based on the reviews. Holy bananas was it great. We had a large pizza, pepperoni, Italian sausage and black olives. Would have also had mushrooms but they use canned and not fresh. We don't care for canned mushrooms. This has got to be one of the best pizzas ever. The... More

So, its the day of your daughters wedding and everything is set. Will everything go smoothly? Your concern is I have hired all these people and if they don't follow through with what I want this could be a disaster. Well this was not the case with Angelos Pizza and there Catering Service. As the father of the bride I... More

This place is always packed on weekends I'm told and I can see why. I sampled a seafood dish with mussels, clams and shrimp which was great. I also had a slice of pizza which was surprisingly good and New York style which only rarely lives up to the name. Excellent experience. Be warned, this is a family style restaurant... More

We went there at the suggestion of some of the workers at Stratford Hall. We were seated at 6:30pm and got drinks at about 6:40pm. The place wasn't terribly busy. The waitress was not very attentive. Took our order at roughly 6:40pm. She came back to our table at about 7:00pm with my wife's salad, asked again what I had... More

After a fun family day at Westmoreland State Park the six of us (yup, four kids under age 12), went looking for something other than fast food. Though the parking wasn't real adequate, the place looked busy and a table opened up as we arrived. The wait staff was courteous and attentive. We ordered a pizza, baked spaghetti, salads, and... Ate here on three occasions during our week at Westmoreland State Park. The food was always fresh and flavorful though sometimes we had to wait for it as the place was often packed. Busy open kitchen so no unexpected surprises. Garden salad tasted as if it was just picked from the garden and the chicken wings were some of the... More

My mother grew up in Montross and we try to get back "home" about four to five times per year so I/we have eaten at Angelo's a lot! We have been eating here since Angelo, the original owner and namesake opened it (in 1988 my wedding party had the dinner before the rehearsal dinner here) and have watched as Brian... More
