We popped in here for dinner because it was very close to our hotel and we thought our 10 year old granddaughter would enjoy the show of hibachi. My husband and I needed to satisfy my 80 year old parents and my vegan granddaughter. This was no easy feat to please everyone. We did not have a reservation and we... More

The food here is always amazing and very well flavored. I Have been to multiple other hibachi restaurants in the Richmond area and none compared to Yamoto. The performance of the chefs is nothing over-the-top and standard hibachi style.

My husband and I love this place but to nights visit was very disappointing. Not only was the service not up to par but there was no heat and we had to stay bundled up in our coats throughout dinner.

You get what you pay for and more. This is excellent value for money, fun and entertaining. Customers sit around a large flat indoor BBQ and the food is fried in front in front of you. First the chef gives a flamoyant, clinking and dextrous cutlery display by throwing it around and catching it (sometimes in his top pocket). Then... More

After a 8 hour drive to Midlothian we checked into our hotel and set out to find dinner. We didn't have to go far and stumbled upon this little gem. We sat in the bar and it was very welcoming. Everyone was very attentive to us. My husband had a cold beer and I had a very generously poured glass... More

We are big fans of Japanese Hibachi food. We go out to Japanese restaurants often for casual and special occasions. This was a special occasion night. We were visiting family in the area to celebrate 2 birthdays. The menu selection for sushi was decent. Prices are about what we pay in other cities. Food was delicious but the show was... More

This place is SO over-rated by some. I kind of liked the overall decor but the staff including our personal chef were all rude. Granted it was a Friday night but EVERYTHING felt rushed and was evident with the undercooked scallops on my plate. At the end of the meal I excused myself to the restroom and it was DISGUSTING,... Dined here this evening and had a terrible meal. The sushi tasted like it came out of a box. It was not fresh and two pieces of it were absolutely inedible. The hibachi fried rice was also inedible. Ihave no idea how anyone can ruin fried rice in a Japanese restaurant, but they did. 120 dollars including tip for our... More
