Celebrated a special event at this restaurant and would do it again without a doubt. The ambience was first class. The night view overlooking the lake was magical. The food was delicious, had flavor and filling. Most importantly, the service was stellar. From the entrance to being seated, everyone encountered was truly customer oriented. The staff that attended to this... More

We just had my son's rehearsal dinner here (in the Garden Pavilion) as well as a morning after breakfast (in the Swift Creek Room). We have also eaten private family dinners here a couple of times. The food is excellent, with fun seasonal selections as well as house specialties, & they have an extensive wine list. The venue for my... More

We visited The Boathouse for a birthday brunch. We found the service good and the brunch options were different and quite good. The crabmeat omelet was a little slim on the amount of crab. However, the steak and eggs, surry omelet, and crab sandwich were quite good and ample.

Lots of eye candy in this restaurant-- a beautiful space has been created in a lovely lakeside setting. If the food had been as good as the service and the ambiance, this would have been 5 star, But alas, it was not. Nothing really wrong, just not great. Still, if it was in my neighborhood (we were traveling), I would... More

What a sunset tonight. You can't believe you are in Richmond as you look out over the water. Drinks were good plus there was a special on a bottle wine. I had a wedge salad and the crab and asparagus pizza. 1/2 price night on pizza. Good crust but got cold quickly. Had a warm cookie with syrup, and whipped... More

Very very expensive. Very over priced. I could not cut into my NY Strip steak with a steak knife. I thought maybe the knife was dull but no, the NY Strip was full of gristle and not edible. My wife's bowl of soup was cold and an embarrassing small portion. We ate there a month ago and her Egg Plant... More

My Husband and I live near The Boathouse. I have been there a few times for happy hour with friends. We have had some bad experiences here but this last time was the worst. Took forever to get our drinks. Never once saw a server so we had to go to the bar for everything. My Husband ordered french fries...FRENCH... More

5 of us ate dinner on a Friday. We had a wonderful view of the lake and live music! I tried the fried green tomatoes....very good. We shared the clam chowder and it was some of the best I've had. I ordered the broiled seafood combination which included a crab cake, shrimp, scallops, roasted potatoes and vegetable. The scallops tasted... More

Shrimp and grits are very good. Smaller portion, so appetizer not a bad idea. Great atmosphere out on deck overlooking the lake, with a bar on the deck.
