Can't beat the pate and baguette for lunch

This place is right on the main street and you can sit along the windows to people-watch on a nice day, Unfortunately you may have to look past cafe curtains that seemed a little worn out or even dinghy, To make up for this the staff was very friendly (though it seemed the kitchen could not keep... read more

On our first full day in Middleburg, we left the hotel to explore the adjacent town. It is a small town, and most of the action is on E. Washington street, so that's where we started. As we made our way east window-shopping, we came across this modest-looking restaurant, so we decided to try it. We were received with a... More

A small French restaurant on the main street of Middleburg. The portions were small for the price. Waitress was good but wait time for the food was too long. The food was average tasting. Plain mashed potatoes and a vegetable were served with entree.

This is a sweet restaurant on the main street in Middleburg. They serve a nice variety of kight to hearty meals and provide decent wine and champagne, Their egg dishes are very nice as are their desserts. The portions are not huge but just right. The tables are pleasant and the atmisphere is light and cheerful. Nice staff is willing... More

The place is reminiscent of the small villages restaurant/bistros one encounters in France; it draws you in by its simple, home-cooked food type of place appeal. There was nothing about French home-cooking in the bland food served on bland plates. The pates were straight out of a can (with the exception, maybe of the terrine which tasted more like a... More

The place reeked of antiseptic table cleaner and had dust and grime around the baseboards. The tables are old cafeteria style, but the entrée prices are in the $30s! After waiting for ten long minutes to absorb this less than appealing ambience, we decided to leave, figuring we couldn't do any worse.

Charming town and good location, and that's the best part. Service was poor. Sauvignon blanc was sour. The French onion soup was good, but prepackaged and heated, and the tuna Niçoise salad inedible. The tuna was canned, piled on top of a pre-prepared salad, topped with tasteless dressing.

I am very sorry to say that we could not get past the smell in the place. We stayed only for a horribly weak cup of coffee and it was all we could do to drink that. The waitress was less the gracious and we didn't mention a bit of the above to her. We were actually friendly with her... More

Julien's is the place to choose while strolling the main street of Middleburg and deciding on a little bite to eat. The sandwiches and egg dishes are always good and the wait staff is attentive. The decor is a combination of hunt country, old furniture and various pieces of frog sculpture. I like it. It doesn't pretend to compete with... More

Can't think of any negatives. I ordered escargot (for the first time ever), then the pork loin. Both were incredibly good. There was so much flavor in the food. Salmon may have been a tad overcooked. But we were very happy with the food. Service was great. Chris took good care of us. The place was cute and comfy.
