So great - we went back twice

Great options and specials each night we were there. We loved the history and local fare in this cute little town.

Great food at great prices and large portions. I have the fried chicken which was very good. My wife truly enjoyed the crispy duck.

Went in recently and ordered something simple: country fried chicken. Chicken arrived frozen (ice) in the center making it clear to me that it was prepared way in advance and the cook thought he could get away with deep frying it to warm it up. Sent it back, was excused for payment for the meal and will not be back.... More

The entire menu was well-thought out and made it very tough to choose. Everything we ordered was excellent.

The use of the existing architecture to create the ambiance of a hotel of that age is charming. The food is up to 2014 in all aspects--I had the best version of a recipe I seek out at fooderies.

Had dinner here with my family recently. I personally liked the feel of the place, but it ended up being the worst restaurant experience I've had in years. ALL service staff disappeared for long periods, and I literally had to walk into the kitchen to find someone to bring us water. After long waits, we only received our food after... More

I thought at first that the shoddy furnishings might be sort of a "shabby hunt chic" design. Instead, the awful decor was apparently foreshadowing of the awful food. I ordered the brisket with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Everything on the plate was terrible. The mashed potatoes tasted like the fake kind you buy in the refrigerated section of the... What a quaint little place. Tall people need to duck in some areas but I found this charming.we like to go on Sunday afternoons after a drive in the countryside. Great bloody Mary's,and the lobster blt is to die for. Sit at the small bar if you have to wait for a table and enjoy the rustic atmosphere.

The service was slower than I have ever seen at a restaurant anywhere. Over an hour before we got bread and another 20 min to get appetizers. The waiter then came out to tell us the trout ordered by one of our party was bad so he recommended the we order something else. None if the food came out at... More

In all honesty, we didn't eat here. We came in on a Friday afternoon to make a dinner reservation for that night. The person at the desk never bothered to look at us or acknowledge us. He just kept counting and sorting some paper strips on his table. We asked about a reservation and he sharply, and rather rudely asked... More
