Good little diner

We stopped in here twice for late supper while vacationing at Massanutten Resort. Both times we had very good food and service. My husband had a meatloaf dinner and I had a roasted portobello and veg sandwich. Both meals were very good. They make their own bread here so the sandwich was better... read more

Ate here as we staked it out prior to our trip to Massanutten, Excellent food, service & Very reasonable, Hank has three restaurants in the area, we ate at all three, and they were great!

We were at out resort only 5 days and visited Thunderbird Cafe 3 times. Food, friendliness of wait staff and service were excellent.

Well it took 10 minutes before we got menus , this was 1 pm in the afternoon on a Saturday . Had the Carnegie Reuben the meat was prepared well tasty fresh the only problem was the grease from it was overwhelming . You need a couple of napkins. Also could of had a couple more slices of meat. Great omelets, good coffee, nice server. Very close to resort. Got there at 11 and were out the door by 11:45, even though the place was mobbed for breakfast.

Loved the grits and biscuits. Try the breakfast sandwich with the pulled pork and siracha sauce. Good coffee. My 7 year old daughter loved the cinnamon french toast. Great old time diner feel. Clean.

Really enjoyed our breakfast here. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy and he said that is was delicious. I had the gouda and mushroom omelette - it was pretty good. We both had potatoes as the sides and they were yummy. I would recommend for a good breakfast. Better than yucky Massanutten!

So drive past this restaurant 2x per day, and often on the weekends. While Romano's next door usually has a fairly full parking lot, this place is ALWAYS empty. So far I haven't gone except for espresso (that they advertise) for this reason. The espresso......just wasn't..............espresso.

Dinner on a Thursday evening. Place was smaller than expected, but comfortable. Meals were all enjoyable - breakfast burrito and open-faced beef sandwich. Friendly service, reasonably priced. A nice alternative to the pricier Hank's BBQ, up the street.

I wish I could say that my visit to Thunderbird Cafe was as positive as my experiences with her sister restaurant, Hank's Smokehouse. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I have frequented this business since it opened, though with several years between visits. This business is not aging well. The service was incredibly poor. Not only was the staff inattentive...
