Down home food with a diner atmosphere

Dinner on a Thursday evening. Place was smaller than expected, but comfortable. Meals were all enjoyable - breakfast burrito and open-faced beef sandwich. Friendly service, reasonably priced. A nice alternative to the pricier Hank's BBQ, up the street.

So drive past this restaurant 2x per day, and often on the weekends. While Romano's next door usually has a fairly full parking lot, this place is ALWAYS empty. So far I haven't gone except for espresso (that they advertise) for this reason. The espresso......just wasn't..............espresso.

I wish I could say that my visit to Thunderbird Cafe was as positive as my experiences with her sister restaurant, Hank's Smokehouse. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I have frequented this business since it opened, though with several years between visits. This business is not aging well. The service was incredibly poor. Not only was the staff inattentive... Tried the Thunderbird Cafe based on other online reviews and was very glad I did! The food is all homemade and exactly what I want out of a local dining experience! (The macaroni and cheese was especially delicious!) My waitress was super-nice and attentive, as well. She seemed genuine and as though her job and the restaurant mean something to... More

My family and I came in for dinner. Although the service and atmosphere was excellent, the food was satisfactory. The potato soup was not so good. The bbq pizza was ok (the bbq was dry). The Mac and cheese was really good. The fruit crisp dessert was probably the best thing. I would maybe come again but I'd prefer to... More

I was with a large party; got seated right away. Drinks were out quick. I had the bacon bloody Mary and it was so delicious! All the food ordered was enjoyed and service was great. Awesome place would recommend to everyone.

They offer a lot of choices on the menu which should satisfy anyone in your party. Delicious burgers cooked just right and an excellent Reuben. Their desserts are to die for. Very friendly staff and fast service.

Stopped in for a midday meal. The chicken fried steak was fresh and made to order. The breakfast burrito was topped with the best homemade mole sauce and cumin sour cream topping ever. As good as the other items were, it was the grits that were the meal winner. Take a bag home and they will share their special recipe... More
