We stopped here for a late lunch / early dinner and look forward to coming again. The food was wonderful -- appetizer, main course, and dessert. I got a salad and it was clearly prepared with care. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. The restaurant's interior is sweet, displaying work of local painters on the walls, fresh flowers at every... More

Quite excellent.... from the outside, you might well just pass this little place by. I had the Cordon Bleu and French Onion soup and both were first rate, followed up with a great Key Lime pie. A wonderful surprise in such a tiny little town. Really would give this a 4.5 if the system would allow. Worth a ride just... More

Into a town that used to be limited to cheesburgers, grits, and biscuits and gravy, the Madison Inn has arrived to bring us first-class cuisine in a charming setting, right on Madison's main street. Great meals, fine wines, and caring waitpeople. Check it out if you are passing through our town sightseeing in Madison's beautiful countryside, or come make a... More

Had a lovely dinner here. Fantastic local ingredients (the peach in the salad was inspired), lovely ambience. A bit off the beaten path, and absolutely worth the trip!

While meandering through the Virginia countryside on our way back from Big Meadows we happened upon Madison. We made a stop at the local museum. We enjoyed that and they had a nice collection of Native American artifacts from the area. Worth a stop. We asked for local restaurants with in walking distance. There are 3 one of which was... More

Madison Inn was recommended to us. It's a quaint, lovely little restaurant on the main street in the small town of Madison, VA. You have to look very carefully for it or you'll miss it as we did. While you're driving down the street, look up for the yellow Madison Inn sign with the rooster on it. Lunch was very... More

Visiting the area and came upon this gem. Food, salad with apples and lemon vinegarette, pan fried tout, both were great. The fresh rolls and the outstanding service completed the meal. I will go out of my way to eat there again if I am any were close.

We enjoyed lunch yesterday at the Madison Inn. Both the food and service were fabulous. Our server, Karen, made us feel welcome and right at home with her friendliness. The crab cake was delicious - hardly any filler and the sweet potatoe fries were the best. The mountain trout was outstanding. The atmosphere is very inviting and quaint. Can hardly... More

Our family just had dinner at the Madison Inn. Outstanding. A few appetizers including Panko crusted goat cheese and fried green tomatoes. A couple of salads, plus two soups...cream of mushrooms and french onion. Then entrees including trout, crab cakes and seafood pasta. Every item was fresh and tasty. Glad we saved room for the homemade desserts. Highly recommend the... More

While there are lots of good meals, this was one of the best. They have their own rolls before the main course- wow! Roast duck over steamed spinach; baked potato or rice, side of vegetables. $24. Service by Rebecca was the best. Even better, they support Hospice of the Piedmont. Another good reason to visit Madison County.
