I'm a little biased as my fiance's stepfather owns the Cavalier, but as a new visitor to the restaurant this past year I must say it's a great local sandwich dive with terrific food. The french fries are seasoned with seasoning salt, the nachos and onion rings are top notch, and every sandwich I've had here is amazing. It's funny... More

Great place to sit with friends and have some fries and burger and a cold one. Wide variety of folks eat here, so I like the atmosphere and good times.

Stopped by the Cavalier on Saturday afternoon and had a yummy burger and fries. Some great beer and good atmosphere was had by us, and we loved the fries with ranch dip. Such a small menu with just the good stuff, made it easy to choose! I felt like anything would be delicious here, and I am looking forward to... More

Even though we've lived here for almost 20 years, today was our first visit to The Cavalier, but I'm sure it won't be our last. This little piece of nostalgia was perfect for a father/daughter lunch. We both had the Cavalier Burger and shared a large order of fries. The burgers were very good and the ground beef appeared to... More

The food is really good. Especially the seasoned fries with ranch dressing and the burgers taste fresh. The place is small and the service is really slow, so sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit. The beer is cold.

It's cash only now and the food is good, but greasy. It was almost featured on Man vs Food, but it wasn't. My uncle also owned it from 1950's until 1970, when he died. My mom worked there during the 60's and took me to work with her every single day.

The Cav is the Cheers of Lynchburg! Walk right in and you are made to feel like you have been eating and drinking there forever. We have visited The Cav several times a year for the past decade, and it just keeps getting better. Manager Jeff keeps the friendliness alive and well, with a hug or handshake to just about... More

The burgers here are so delicious and the platters come with 2 sides. I highly recommend getting fries as one if not as both of your sides. It comes with homemade ranch, which if you have had ranch fries, makes for a delicious meal. If there is one bad thing I could say about it would be the difficulty finding... More

Always one of my local favorites. You must try the fries with seasoning and ranch! The Ruben is my personal favorite but also enjoy the burger and club sandwich. Not a fancy place but a great place to enjoy delicious bar food.
