Warm atmosphere.

I can't comment on the dinners, as I stayed with salad and bread. Both were good. The Cabernet, however, bore a sad resemblance to Kool-aid. Whatever the short-comings, Jimmy's has a chummy atmosphere, a credible pianist and Sinatra-style vocalist, and good service. More than happy to hang out... read more

Stopped in with my sons to have a cocktail. Was immediately impressed with the renovations that have been made to the bar area. More room to enjoy drinks or a causal dinner. The food was terrific along with the service. Staff was friendly and professional. I would recommend to anyone to stop in and enjoy a truly customer orientated dining... More

Our bed and breakfast hosts recommended we go to Jimmy's on the James as we rolled into town late and hungry and wanted a good steak. It was everything they said it would be and had great atmosphere and service.

Went to a rehearsal dinner here on a Friday night. Was a bit disappointed that, despite the name, the restaurant has no views of the river. The food and service was excellent.

Saturday night here was great. Dim lights, great drinks, talented visiting jazz band. Arriving downtown we could hear the music from the street. Great mix of people of different ages. The bar crowd had a great time, dancing in their seats, a few seniors danced and flirted, some sat at tables, middle ages, younger ages, some danced. Others, like us,... More

We stopped here when we were in town overnight. What a great place. It has an upscale but laid back atmosphere. They had two guys playing music who were very good, The food was very good and the service excellent. We had Destiny and she was awesome. We will go back for sure whenever we are in the area.

You're high above the James River having delicious apps and entrees, interesting beer list, all while listening to a skill jazz piano player singing hits and classics.

New owners took over in March and the restaurant has only grown and improved from there. After taking over an already successful business, the new owners have restructured the dining room and added a beautiful bar. The drinks and food are to die for. Jimmy's has really stepped up it's service while still maintaining it's charm. A must dine in... More

I was so looking forward to enjoying one the signature dishes: shrimp and grits. Boy, was I disappointed. I found it pretty tasteless. And expensive. My husband got the filet and it was good. And expensive. One of the other folks got meatloaf, which was good. And expensive. For 4 people without drinks, the tab was well over $100. I... More

Really cool atmosphere. Jimmy plays the piano and sings well. The food is good but is pricey. Its a cool place to take a date. I recommend this restaurant
