Visited this past weekend for a special dinner out. Was seated upon our arrival and greeted soon after being seated. While looking at the menu, asked the waitress if I could substitute the side that came with the steak entrée I was considering (I don't care for asparagus) with another side, and she said I could. When she returned to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Terry Craddock hotel for my birthday and ate here for dinner that night. If you order their specialty dishes, you'll spend a pretty penny, but you get your money's worth! We both ordered the Kona filet (filet mignon rubbed in Kona coffee) which was served with asparagus spears and a hearty serving of... More

We were recently in Lynchburg to attend a family wedding. Amid the festivities, we needed a little getaway for a quiet dinner. Shoemakers was amazing! The service was attentive but not intrusive, the food was delicious and the ambiance warm and friendly. The drinks were generouos, the wine list extensive and the dinner was prepared and presented in a most... More

We had high expectations for the Shoemaker having read the reviews and been impressed by the ambiance and greeting upon arrival. They certainly have the makings of a fine dining venue, but they fell far short on execution. We arrived at 9PM on a weekday and so the place wasn't overly busy yet the service was slow and somewhat awkward.... More

Great dinner last night at the bar - food was excellent and we appreciated the pasta dinner accommodation. Warm greeting when we walked in from one of the servers - thank you! Will definitely return next time we are in Lynchburg.

We had appetizers and dinner. We were greeted and welcomed by the owner during the course of our stay made it more pleasurable than the very good food provided! Restaurant is part of a renovation of a historic manufacturing facility which is well done. Better than most such sites.

We met at Shoemaker's for a meeting and then a wonderful lunch. I would recommend for meetings or just to dine. The atmosphere was wonderful.

Back n Lynchburg for family this time. Since Shoemaker's blew me away in May, when on business, thought I would take my favorite uncle and aunt for a visit. A repeat performance. Food was wonderful, service was five star and we had a blast. Thank you folks.

Although a little difficult to find, the effort was worth it. The transition of an old shoe factory into an excellent restaurant is interesting. Our server Thomas was very helpful in telling of the history and how this restaurant became very popular. Food was very well prepared and priced. Would visit again.

My husband and I went here for a dinner date together. Everything was so good. He got the prime rib and it was very juicy. I had the seafood soup with a crab cake. Very yummy. The ambiance was delightful and service was excellent. Cliff, our server, did a great job with menu selections and recommendations. I would go again... More
