It had been a long drive down 29 and this was a nice place to stop for lunch. The food was good, the service was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable. This is the kind of place where you get exactly what you order and it exactly meets your expectations. We were all quite satisfied with our lunch and... More

We have enjoyed 2 meals here. Great food and very family friendly! The kids menus are pasted into picture books, which is cute!

Traveling on US 29 south to Lynchburg, Virginia, a small highway sign for The Lovingston Cafe got our attention; so we turned off at the traffic light to a small strip mall, where The Lovingston Cafe is located as the end unit. WOW were we glad we did!..."you can;'t tell a book by the cover," and the same holds for... More

The food portions were great, and so were the prices! We would definitely go back! It seemed nice and quiet as well, though we were there at an odd hour, probably before any dinner rush.

We had a delightful supper there, that is until the bill came for the meal. My wife wanted to have a glass of 'blush wine" with dinner. The waitress told us that that kind of wine was only available by the bottle. She suggested one that was listed at $11.95 on the menu. We ended up sharing some of the... More

We have been eating here for about 15 years in our driving from DC to NC. They always have great food and it's much better for you than eating fast food. Lovingston is a beautiful little town and you suddenly feel like you're in a Walton's episode.....love it.

If you're driving between Raleigh-Durham NC and Harrisonburg VA, the Lovingston Café is a good place to stop for a meal. There is variety, friendly service, a clean and pleasant environment, and it's right on the highway for easy in-and-out.

Good for occasional visits - the bar can be friendly, if you don't mind delving into the local color. The bartender is great.

We were driving along Route 29 in VA, looking for a place to eat, when I spied a sign for the Lovingston Cafe. Not wanting to eat at fast food places, we gave it a try. Well, it far exceeded our expectations. The decor is the first thing you notice--it's different, arty, and fun. The menu had lots of options... More

There are not a lot of restaurants in Lovingston, so this one stands out. It is small, but the food is good. Many of the locals eat there, so the staff knows the regulars. Prices are reasonable.
