Fantastic Atmosphere with Food to match!

It has been a number of years since I have been to this restaurant nestled in the mountains of Virginia. Even though it is out of the way and up a steep incline, it is worth the drive. The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm – April 18, 2015 The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm has garnered a lot of praise for its approach to local, organic and seasonal ingredients in its cooking, and Chef Tarver King has been recognized by no less than the James Beard Foundation as the vision behind the menu. Although difficult to get a table and... More

We dined in January on a whim. Those travelling from DC proper should keep in mind it is about an 1.5 hour drive without traffic. Those in the suburbs of Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland will have a shorter trip. Regardless of your origin, this restaurant is worth your time. Winning highlights: The warm, genuine greeting and personalized menus truly... More

This is a great gourmet venue that's limited seating and fairly limited menu with quality local ingredients and creative menu. It's expensive but a very nice experience worth the price once or twice a year - I'd recommend it.

Refined food and dining that brings guests from miles away. A great place for a special dinner and occasion.

This was our first visit and it vastly exceeded all our expectations. Every aspect of my special Valentine celebration for my wife was extraordinary - from my specially-ordered flowers placed at the table to a mind-blowing, 6-course Valentine dinner that provided an expansive array of wonderfully prepared dishes to the extensive, perfectly-matched wine pairings. The very attentive, knowledgeable, expert service... More

We went to this restaurant due to it being ranked in the top ten of the Washingtonian Magazine. It is a little out of the way and I think the restaurant's greenhouse appeal would be better appreciate in season's other than Winter. It wasn't crowded, so I thought the chef may come out and work the dining room a bit,... More

First, the facility is terribly disappointing. The view is nice, but the very basic, industrial looking greenhouse is totally devoid of any charm and looks terribly cheap. At least it could have some plants, flowers and chandeliers. Ugly Christmas lights, art from the flea market and formica tables without table cloths... We ordered champagne.. Only half bottles were available and... More

I have to say I was disappointed. I have eaten at Ashby Inn when Tarver King was there. It was excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Ashby Inn. Here at Patowmack the food was good, but there was nothing that really wowed me or made an impression on me. The menu for dinner was 5 courses and you got... More

We had a lovely brunch on a sunny December Saturday. Two courses (we passed on dessert.) The food was great - everyone tried something different and loved the food. Even better than the food was the service. One of our party needed a Coke, which the restaurant doesn't stock on a regular basis, and our server went out of his... More
