The Southern Inn was a wonderful surprise. Pecan pie was especially good. Beet salad was tasty. Servers were attentive but not in the way.

We go out of our way on our trips south to visit the Southern Inn. We've been doing this for 8 years. We suffered through the fire, and the redo was beautiful. Last nights dinner was extra delicious. The service was great and the check made us very happy. A perfect evening. Thanks George and crew.

This used to be our favorite but Chef George seems to gouge his customers. $18 for a shot of scotch! $15 hamburger that is NOTHING SPECIAL and $15 for "Southern Inn Fried Chicken" which was 1 chicken tender! Our son's friend worked there and heard the chef/owner remark about W&L and VMI parents saying "they have plenty of money and... More

Thank you Southern Inn for being one of the few Lexington restaurants open on Sunday that serves brunch AND their normal lunch menu. My wife stopped in for a late Sunday lunch. Our waiter was excellent, my fried oyster sandwich was light and bursting with flavor. Bell's Two Hearted Ale on tap .... my favorite draft beer! You can not... More

We went last about 9pm. The restaurant was about 40% full. It is in a great location on Main Street and across from the Robert E Lee hotel. We all got a small Caesar salad which was just okay. Nothing special. 1) The rainbow trout was excellent! As we're the sides. 2) the other fish dish was Ohoe (?). It... More

The atmosphere is a bit like a fancy diner/old 1950's restaurant. Very quaint. The food was excellent and we ate there on 2 consecutive nights-all was good, esp. the fried chicken! The service was also excellent and welcoming. A must go to restaurant if you are in Lexington.

The Southern Inn was recommended to us by our B&B proprietor and what a great recommendation it was! This is just a very comfortable place with an attentive waitstaff and good food. I had checked the menu online and was momentarily disappointed when the item I wanted was not on the menu. Not to worry- the chef fixed it for... More

You will like the food, selection and service. I was pleasantly pleased and would return again. A good selection of beers along with some local ones.

Very good food, great atmosphere, best wait staff in town. This is our go to restaurant, it is always consistent - we've been going to the Southern Inn for almost 15 years and are seldom disappointed.
