Great food, large menu

We recently had dinner for the first time at Macado's. Everything was very good. Service, food and drinks. The menu is very large with a great variety. We also had a variety and everything was very good, hot and fresh. If we return to this area, we would definitely eat here again and... read more

We were not impressed with what we ordered (Reuben sandwich and southwest fiesta salad). The Ruben had too much fat on the meat and the salad was a large deep fried tortillas bowl with a very small, portioned salad. The other salads looked good and well portioned; Not sure what happened with the one we ordered. We liked the atmosphere (sports... More

Good food. Great service. Pub grub. Kid friendly. Extensive list of sandwiches. I built my own sandwich and it was very good.

They seated us at a large table and the server was friendly but she seemed slightly overworked since we were upstairs far from the kitchen. The sandwiches were all right and our salad was ok but it seemed like the food lacked pizazz and it was straight from Sysco or some other institutional vendor. The atmosphere and decor were excellent.

If you come to Macado's, make sure you have plenty of time because service here is notoriously slow. They have a ton of sandwiches to choose from and great drink specials at happy hour. If you come at night on the weekends you will be greeted by a large group of cadets from VMI.

Actually ate here twice this weekend. First night with the fam. Second night with large group of parents here for Final Four FH Tournament. Selection of sammiches is outstanding and numerous! Around 50 types along with burgers, build your own sammiches/burgers and wings. Great prices and service. This many people could have been overwhelming but he did great! Great to... More

If you are in the mood for good bar food with a twist, then this is the place for you! Lots of choices and interesting combinations for sandwiches. The soups are just lovely as well.

I was adviced to go there since they offer excellent sandwiches. The place is really nice with historic interior and good atmosphere. The food however was not my taste: sandwich was too greasy, beer too watery. Not really for my taste, but not bad

This restaurant and bar are located in the historic downtown area of Lexington. Seating can be upstairs or downstairs, inside or outside. There are lots of neat pictures and documents on the walls. The food was excellent and large in portions. We had a bowl of soup - which was a meal in itself. We also had a sandwich -... More

The menu is decent and the food good. We sat outside on the second floor porch. Love the history of the place. It would be advisable to be sure the servers had at least a minimum knowledge of the history of the building. Our server knew very little.
