I have been there a few times...love the atmosphere.. The fish tacos are awesome...eating fried green tomatoes and sitting outside with the Key West decor and listening to the music is just the best...my nephew had told me about this place and we love it. We just had my husband's 60th birthday party there. Nils and his staff were excellent...... More

We recently held a surprise party for my Uncle at the McDowell Brew Kitchen and it was a blast. All of the 35 guests were raving about the restaurant and the service. This is the second party we have held at McDowell's (we celebrated my wife's 30th shortly after they opened). The service is excellent and we always love seeing... More

We went to MacDowell's on First Friday. It is very busy and features live music. They do have a happy hour where you save $1 a beer and $1 off select appetizers. We had the Frickles ( fried pickles), Fried green tomatoes, split a panini, and fried oreos. We each had 2 beers. The total bill was $42. The Fried... More

Great atmosphere and lot's of micro-beer selections. Gordon has wonderful plans for his kitchen remoldeling business converted to a brew kitchen. I look forward to the additional renovations and expansion of his food menu. Summer is winding down so I suspect given the weather will start to change soon this is a good place to hang out when it is... More

My family and I went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The service was a little slow (not sure if they just don't have enough wait staff), but the food was pretty good. The salads were fresh and the pulled pork was fairly tasty. Having stated that, the food options didn't match the beer selection.

Tried it out the other day - weather was nice, so we sat outside in the little Tiki-Bar area. Other than the fact that it is next to the (slightly busy) street, it was quite pleasant. Good reggae/indie music, comfy rustic table, white sand, and good service. I almost took my shoes off. Very relaxing. We had a couple of... More

Went with friends and sat outside for beer & appetizers. Split the potato skins with the pork barbecue (name?) with my friend, which was perfect with my beer for a light dinner! Very yummy! Loved the beer (Starr Hill Northern Lights) the waitress recommended based on my description of what I like (hoppy but not too sweet/strong) - her suggestion... More

I stopped in for lunch today. The fish & chips were really good... not at all greasy and heavy like at many places. They aren't yet brewing their own beer but they're selling great stuff from all over. Today they had over 100 beers on their menu. (I think the waitress said 124!) This spot was a little hard to... We went on a late Sunday afternoon and found a nice outside table under an umbrella, our waitress greeted us and instantly apologized. She said that they were very busy earlier and are almost sold out of all of their menu. Between Father's day and some big sports events everyone seemed to be out for lunch. So she told us... More
