The idea is great, but the food didn't taste fresh.
I don't know the first thing about cajun food, but I can't stand the idea of another meal at TGIF or other chains. When we went to the Cajun Experience for the first time we felt as comfortable as we would have been in a good friend's kitchen. We plan to go back frequently.
Best Cajun/Creole food in Northern Virginia, by far. With that said, some people will be turned off by the atmosphere/decor of the restaurant, as seen in the other reviews, but don't let that stop you. The food is authentic from the beignets to the etouffee and should not be passed up. Plus, they carry an array of brews from Abita,... More
Don't even think about showing up here on a weekend night without reservations. It's small and easily filled to capacity! The tables are small and it feels dirty but that's how it is when you have crawfish on the menu. The wait staff are a bit disorganized and some are even too young to serve alcohol. If you're just looking... More
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary (without the kids) and decided to drive into historic Leesburg, Virginia to window shop and have dinner. We live close to Leesburg but rarely have the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of this beautiful town. On this night, the smells were pretty incredible too and coming from a little... My husband and I went a few weeks back for the first time. Parking is horrible but worth the walk through town to get to it! What a pleasant experience! I loved everything that was ordered! We shared our Oyster Po Boy and Shrimp Po Boy, the gumbo is AWSOME!!! Ever since that visit I have been back once a... More
My wife and I brought our baby to the Cajun experience in order to try something new. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, and it was such a wonderful change of pace from the normal selection of restaurants. My meal was the fried chicken poboy, and my wife had the shrimp poboy: both were very good. Moreover,... More
The Cajun Experience sits in an old house smack dab in the middle of Old Leesburg. The interior's small and simply decorated, but it's kinda funky. There's an exterior, but with the threat of rain, we decided on inside eating. We started by sharing three appetizers: 1. Boudin Balls (fried pork and rice) were large but they had little to... More
First time at this place and it was a disappointment all the way around. First, all the entrees contained meat or fish, and the only thing that could pass for a meal for us non-meat eaters was a "fried vegetable" po boy. I've eaten at great Cajun restaurants, including in New Orleans, that offered a good selection of vegetarian dishes.... More
