Description: The award winning Palio Ristorante Italiano is a combination of three of the premier historic buildings in downtown Leesburg, Virginia. Palio provides Leesburg's newest venue for dining, entertaining, and banquet facilities. Palio has designed and built an establishment like no other in the Washington area, utilizing unique combinations of cherry wood, onyx, and antique mirrors and chandeliers. The design has been meticulously configured into the existing space in these historic buildings. The theme of the Palio derives from the ancient horse race -beautiful and bold, risky and exciting, a feast for the eyes as well as the senses. Good music, a fine wine selection, house made pasta and bread prepared on site, and sourcing from local producers, can only be described as a beautiful experience- all presented in an historic setting that would be as comfortable in Italy as it is in Loudoun County.

I was part of a party of eight, who was seated in the bar. From the time we were seated and drinks were brought, 45 minutes had past. It took over 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. When it get to the table, it was cold and my friend's chicken was very under cooked. The waiter checked on us... More

We went there for lunch and have no plans to return. The place was almost empty at prime lunch time to the point of almost being able to hear an echo. When we arrived there was no one to great us at the entrance for at least 10 minutes while I sat at the bar waiting for my wife to... More

Took my son and his girlfriend here for their homecoming. The restaurant was overcrowded and understaffed. Her soda glass sat empty for 40 minutes! As soon as the meal arrived (late) we asked for the check. Food was average and overpriced.

Friends made these reservations. There were six of us and everyone raved about their meal. Two bottles of wine were chosen and downed. The Seven Falls cabernet was particularly memorable. My filet mignon was among the best steaks I have ever had. My only criticism would be that the drinks were not generous. Fine décor, friendly, good service (not superior... More

Very disappointed with a recent meal at Palio. Over-priced ($100 pp) for small portions of over-done food. Home-made pasta (which waiter raved about) was gluey. Veal was dry. We used to like Palio for good Italian. No more. We won't be back.

I had made reservations through Open Table and mentioned it was my parents 50th wedding anniversary. When the restaurant called to confirm, they confirmed it was my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Another member of our party was running late, we asked if we could wait in the bar. We asked the waitress about happy hour specials she said their house... More

After a long hard work week my husband and I decided to go to Pollio for dinner tonight for the third time. We don't make it to Leesburg often but when we do we will always come back to this amazing restaurant. Our appetizers and entrées were so abundant and Delicious that we didn't have room for the peach melba... More

Overpriced and not a good menu. Hardly anything to choose from and hardly anything on your plate. Yes, the portion was so tiny that when I got home, 1 hour after my meal at Palio's, I was hungry. Luckily, I had leftovers in my fridge from the day before to fill me up. I do have a good appetite but... More

Overall our meal was very good. We opted for the prix fixe menu which included a starter, a salad, an entrée, and a dessert. Far too much food for just one person. Maybe they could consider lowering the overall price and having folks split an app, or choose which three courses they might like. The apps were good, I had... More

This corner of historic downtown Leesburg has other high end restaurants,so Palio has its work cut out to compete. The food was prepared with care, but a little short of memorable. The upstairs dining room is a little hard to access if you are having a dinner for your older friends or relatives, but quiet for Sunday or weekday dinners.... More
