Four of us met for dinner on a rainy Wednesday night. But inside it was warm and welcoming. The service was good. There were five specials order and each of chose from that list. There was also a special that evening to get an appetizer, entree and desert for $25. Two of us opted for this and one of us... More

Very nice atmosphere and good food. We were pleasantly surprised to find this style and quality of restaurant in a small town in Virginia. We would go back again next time we visit the area - and stay at the Tides Inn.

We eat here maybe once a week, and have done so since they were around the corner in a very small space across from the Tri-Star grocery store. The food is consistently good. Tonight I had salmon with a sweet chili glaze and my wife had the duck breast. Both were cooked just right. The bartender is first rate. My... More

Dinner was a disappointment because we had heard good things about this little restaurant. We were seated quickly at 7:30 on a Friday evening (room was about 2/3 full) but the wait staff - while pleasant - seemed over-committed. I had a good glass of Malbec and we ordered crab cakes and house salad. The salad was generous but uninspired... More

This restaurant has a really cool atmosphere, and very nice servers; however, the food wasn't that great–it was pretty bland. I ordered crab cakes that were way overpriced for the size, and they came out burned. The vegetables were bland, and really everything was missing flavor. The best part of the meal was the mango sorbet we got for desert...best... More

I really enjoyed eating here. The place is long and narrow, and I suppose if I'd sat on the other side of the table I might have been bothered by the constant traffic behind me. The food was fabulous. Had the brie wheel and the panko crusted scallops. Scallops are easy to under- and over-cook, but these were perfect, every... More

Just ate there when it reopened. The food was not bad, but not good enough for the prices. Vegetarian pasta at $17.00. A la carte, was not good. Fried oysters greasy. Vegetables bland. Bread was very good. Stuffed shrimp, okay, but not much for the price. There are far better places to eat in and around Kilmarnock for much better... More

The food at the bistro is excellent, but expect the service to be slow and the food to take a long time. If you are in a hurry or starving, don't eat at the bistro. If you have plenty of time, it's a teat place to talk, hang out and have a delicious meal.

This place is really dark. We had been told that this is the best restaurant in Kilmarnock. This may be true, but if so, it is quite sad. Three of us had the soft shell crabs. I was disappointed, while the other two diners said that they were OK. Our fourth (a local) must have known something because he ordered... More

We were visiting Kilmarnnock and wanted a place to have dinner. We had just been to a wine tasting and someone recommneded Town Bistro. We called and got the last table. What a treat! Wonderful little space and very tasty food.
