We ate two breakfasts here while staying at Keswick. Service was prompt, but we did not feel hurried at all. The menu was full of locally sourced foods- ham, fruit, vegetables and prepared very well. Large open dining room with trappings of local gentry and culture.

Highly overrated and over priced. Menu posted on their website doesn't, in any way, reflect actuality. Quality of a filet I ordered for dinner was poor and minuscule. Breakfast at Fosset's was even worse in terms of quality. Only saving grace was magnificent view.

We have been here many times, particularly for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Service is always excellent. So is the setting. This last time, we ordered white wine, which the waiter said (correctly) was not cold enough so had to be chilled. Why wasn't it already cold enough? First courses were both very good. Mains, not so much. Cioppino, a mixed seafood... More

Walk in customers for lunch and as such casual attire was acceptable, but I believe for dinner more formal wear is required. Had lunch outside, view of golf course was great. We were promptly seated, waiter was attentive but not too overbearing. Food quality and portion sizes were excellent. I thought pricing was very competitive and good value given the... More

We stayed at Keswick for 2 nights over the July 4th holiday and dined both nights at Fossett's. Both nights the food was very good. The service in every respect was outstanding and the restaurant overlooks the grounds and golf course of Keswick Inn, which creates a great backdrop when dining there.

Had dinner there twice on our recent stay. Best thing about it is the view of the golf course and the friendly wait staff. Dinner was pretty unremarkable both nights. Had the cippino first night. A simple flavorless dish. My wife had the short rib. It probably is the best dish on the short menu but it was not as... More

Fossett's, named in honor of Thomas Jefferson's cook, serves elegant food in beautiful surroundings. The chef likes to put Morroccan touches on several of his dishes, which leads to delightful surprises such as the harissa-rubbed filet of beef. Service was prompt and professional. Very nice dinner indeed.

We went to Fossets for a Sunday brunch with our house guests from Paris. We really expected a lot and planned to show how well Americans can serve and cook. The setting is beautiful, the service was fine, but the food was just mediocre. We ate at Fossets about 4 months ago and were disappointed then. Reassured that things had... More

Worth a trip for great dinner or breakfast, expertly served in a genteel manor. Best cheese grits ever and Virginia Ham. Dinner offerings a varied choice of fish or steak all flavorful&well served.Staff treated guests as if your enjoyment was of the greatest importance. Rare indeed.
